Bit of a deceiving image there OP. This is the £6995 car

75bhp in a big car like that ?...I suppose the lack of any creature comforts (air con, elec windows/locking etc) keeps the weight down..

Start from £9,595 for a Diesel with 90bhp

Great price for a new car but the depreciation on this will be horrendous. I'd have been interested in it a couple of months ago before I bought a second hand Mondeo right enough.

Mpg for diesel looks good ???

Normal price. No discounts
at Dacia.

Good price not a deal though!

Everything's relative in terms of depreciation. It hasn't got a huge starting price to fall from.

It'll do a job for anyone wanting a load lugger.

I don't see how. Really. Any other estate car will depreciate by £7k minimum when you drive it off the forecourt. How much can the Dacia depreciate by? £1k? Get a grip, lol.

It could have been an FSO Polonez...

Yup, buy a 20K car, drive it off lot, lose 5-7k right away, then another 30% after 3 years, OR buy a 9K car, do the same maths, you will come out ahead as long as it's reliable and cheap to fix.

Ain't the badge more of a fashion statement? But tbh skoda is backed by vw which a company who have a good reputation and known for German reliability so I guess it ain't as bad as having Dacia backed Renault who are best known for... Good reliable electronics... Good engines... Comfort... Reliability... Good build quality and material... Oh wait no they are not known for any of those xD (owned one and trust me you don't want one unless life has been bad to you and you are struggling so badly)

Great price for someone on a tight budget wanting a brand new estate car.

Heat added.

Could be a Spanish built Nissan or Merc ML built in Alabama!

Cold, not used BMW with private glass and M badge.

Kidding, heat added.

heat added. if your looking for a basic motor, brand new with 3 years warranty on a budget. dont think you can go wrong with this. owned a few renaults without any problems

COLD, not a Range Rover.

Got the diesel top of the range just done 11000 miles 60+ to the gallon I use it as a taxi

that's easily one of the worst attempts at any sort of calculation I've ever seen!

Looks like something from the 70's, cheap though.

Even after their rebrand - know anyone that has bought a Skoda?

Thought not.

yes but vw own skoda and use vw parts. unfortunately these dacias will have renault parts. renault reliability is awful check parkers car guide for owners woes....

Does it come with privacy glass to hide your shame and a garage suitably far away that the neighbours don't see it?

There might be value in the bottom of the range model and never selling it!

The worst thing about it is that this a relatively old car, it was first pressed in to service in 2006 or so, it was a third world car to start with and now its an old emerging market vehicle.

I have been on the Dacia test days and over all I would have thought a punt at one of the van to mpv type efforts that's a newer and had better engines might be worth a look in if you were considering a mode costly model.

If you have travelled a bit you might have seen this badged as a Lada, Nissan, Renault and probably all sorts of other things over the last 8 years!

Lot of car for the money, but I have to say it's a damn ugly looking bus of a thing. Still hot though, if you are just after an A to B car to chuck the family in I can't see how you could beat this.
£300 option for Sat Nav isn't too shabby either (when you consider others charge £600+ for it on their cars), adds bluetooth, steering controls, USB connection too.

I have an octavia VRS and it is a brilliant car. You are talking out of your **** i'm afraid

what more one wants for under 7K?
4 wheels, steering and smell of new car ! enough. HOT.
it probably comes with 3 years warranty i suppose !

I post a few months back, got over 4000 degrees heat!

In the 2014 AutoExpress Driver Power survey, the Dacia Logan gets a good score of 89.25 for reliability & customer service... that's above the Honda Accord, Ford Kuga, Lexus IS, Volvo V70, Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4 and many others...

I have a Skoda Octavia VRS, and its the best car I have ever owned! Estate boot is massive, the car is not overly wide, great for a family as its full of cubby holes and clever ideas... oh and it shifts too, leaves many other cars behind if required. Internal build quality is good, with a German look and feel, OK its not Audi quality, but its not real cheap plastic by any means.

Bought from new (end of the MK2, Blackline) it has been great, one gripe is the soft paint work - need to sort something out with Garage.

No need for the potty mouth ;).

well my car has lost roughly 9k in 3 years so you could buy this car and scrap it and still be better off
im sure for those that want a load lugger itll be a great buy, snobs will always be snobs but ive seen mercs and bmw's on the hard shoulder so no car is perfect, it is what it is, cheap and probably cheerfull

Red Bull had a good few years with a Renault engine. I think you will also find that the engine in the Megane 265 is highly regarded as well!
