Dacia Sandero £5995.00 new with 3 years warranty.

Found 27th Jan 2013
Bigger than a Fiesta; five doors as standard
On sale now, priced from £5995
At just over four metres long, it's substantially larger than a Ford Fiesta or Volkswagen Polo. Yet despite this size advantage, the Sandero costs from just £5995, making it Britain’s cheapest new car

Who is going to pay full retail for a car like this?

Everybody because the price is
set and there are no discounts.
It depends what you want and
can afford for your choice of car
and I don't want one of these.

Only £5,995 for the unleaded glacier white with black element cloth upholstery..

Because many of us didn't know about it before!!!! Doh!

Can anyone seriously see these even reaching Chevrolet levels of resale value in three years?

Old French engineering, Romanian design (and even that dates back five or six years now) and built in India with the cheapest imaginable materials. About the only good part about it is that the basic chassis and running gear are shared with an overseas Nissan model.

That or a Toyota Aygo. Hmmm.

It's the modern equivalent of the Kia Rio from 10 years ago, which also sold itself as a Focus-sized car for sub-Fiesta money, but with hard plastics and everything stripped out.

Yeah, Hitler was Times man of the year in the 1930's, he won awards too!

this isn't hotukinformationservice. 5750 for a 5995 car is a deal. Saying its bigger than a fiesta but half the price is not a fair comparison.

Great Car, sat in one at Renault, better than Nissan Pixo

Once you add the air con, stereo, and other comforts that generally come as standard with cars these days, you'll be paying much more.

Sarky, apart from his war crimes he did start VolksVagan

Rather buy this than spend 12 grand on a crappy ford .

Well I'd certainly rather buy this than spend 12 grand on a crappy Renault.

Spending £6k on crap is eminently more sensible than spending £12k on crap, for sure.

Based on Skoda designs stolen from Czechoslovakia. Hence one of the reasons VW eventually bought Skoda

That's not an award, are you saying he wasn't a significant figure in the news?

Just get this back on track, if my maths serves me correctly, this item, if purchased with 5 years warranty and driven for 3 years will cost just £41/week. With an optimistic resale value of say £1200 bringing that down to £34/week, this looks like a deal!! And maybe 2 years warranty left to sell the thing on.

That is a lot for your money.

Hmmm ... interesting reverse of "rip-off Britain". This comes to about 7000 euros, which is significantly less than the published entry price in Ireland (9900) France (7800) or Portugal (9350).

Of course the specs may change between countries because they use different trim names to make direct comparison difficult

Maybe that's something the EU should look into instead of the shape of cucumbers......

I just watched the video presentation for the car and; well; to hell with the car - dang that mom's hot...:{

Is that wrong?

Lol what a crap car

would a second hand astra a better bet?

I had one of these a couple of years ago as a holiday rental car in Spain. A week wasn't too bad with this basic specification model but I wouldn't want it as my normal wheels.

3 star NCAP rating. Think I'd rather have a second hand car with a better crash test performance.

I believe this car runs on petrol. Or am I mistaken that its wonderfully engineered to run on air?

really, i thought that was ferdinand porsche?

For just under £6,000 I think it looks pretty decent for a brand new vehicle.

Better still the Sandero Stepway at £7.995. Far from ugly IMO, even if it isn't something I'd buy myself(I still prefer buying nicer vehicles a few years old for far less money).

HEAT bargain can't go wrong in my opinion, better than buying secondhand as you have the reliability.

Lol what a crap car

it would be interesting to know what are you driving. probably nothing. for the price this is a decent car.

seem good i guess use it for 3 years and sell it

Wow thanks, this reminded me the new season of top gear begins tonight. Heat just for that

If you need something to eat the miles then to buy this at this size and drive with the knowledge of a warranty is ideal. Can see some of their 4x4 being popular commercially.
