For the guitarists out there!

2 packs of D'Addario EXL120 Nickel Super Light electric guitar strings for £4.05 including free nominated day delivery from The Guitar, Amp and Keyboard centre (GAK).

EDIT: price on the EXL120s has now risen from £4.05 to £4.99.

Purchase of one pack includes a 'free gift' of another identical pack. Add to basket to see the 2 items in checkout.

Offer also applies to the 10-gauge EXL120s, 2 packs for £4.28. These are the ones I ordered, been using these strings for years and I think they're excellent:

gak.co.uk/en/…426

EDIT: the offer on the 10s has now expired.

At £2.50 a pack, this is the cheapest I could find them by far, including on fleabay. GAK are a well-known retailer, and my local guitar store - represent!

Good strings for a good price.... I really should change the strings on my guitars more often, but just can't be bothered... I am so lazy, but at this price.... Hmmm ..... No I'm still lazy.

cheap, cant decide between the 009 and 010

Delivery not free to Scotland this deal is limited to England.

CAN'T VOTE THIS COLD ENOUGH. £12.99 POSTAGE TO SCOTLAND!! ARE THESE PEOPLE MAD. ABSOLUTELY SCANDALOUS.

Sneaky as well as checkout makes it look like £4.05 at bottom of page but at the top it's £17.04

These are very good quality strings. Still have 4 sets to use yet so I'll skip on this but heat added.

You only show yourself up with stupid comments like that. Bordering on racism so maybe the moderators should kick you out of here

Ridiculously good price, anyone in doubt, get the 10's, they are the 'standard' gauge and you cant really go wrong with them - I think 9's are a bit too thin.

Cheers. Stonking deal.

Totally agree, used 9s for a couple of years then tried 10s just for a bit of a change - never looked back since. Much more satisfying.

I live in Scotland. I'm English. I care about getting free delivery in Scotland.
You are quite wrong. There's plenty of us that do care, twonk.

if you scottish guys are upset about the delivery, guitarguitar have these strings on BOGOF too, £5.99 for two sets, might be a better bet?

Not sure how they can put them out at this price as its less than trade.

A lot of music shops won't deal with D'addario anymore as they shafted the UK distributor (Summerfield) by taking it away from them after they had done a great job of getting them in all the retailers.

Cheers OP. 4 sets of 10s for £8.50 odd! I usually get elixir strings, but these 4 sets are cheaper than one set of them!

Excellent deal thanks a lot, I usually use Ernie Ball only but at this price I can't complain.

Never knew that, that's a shame.
Personally I prefer 13-56 strings. I've used thicker gauge strings for the last 15 years and can't play lighter strings without unintentionally string bending because they're so light!

Jeez! What's wrong with putting them in an envelope with a stamp on? 60p to send first class anywhere in the UK, including the Outer Hebrides.

I'm used to skipping suppliers because they charge extra depending on which side of a line through the county I live on as per their definition of the Highlands but to discriminate against Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland may be legal but it is pretty crap.

The 10's aren't being offered at the cheaper price are they?

They're 23p more.

Are the moderators observing these racist comments by the likes of Mascherano?

Unfortunately we're not 'united' when it comes to postage charges though. NI customers always get shafted where postage costs are applied. How the delivery charge can possibly be 5 times the actual price of the strings is beyond me oO

Excellent deal otherwise

I don't want to get into this discussion but Scotland is a different country to England - the UK is technically a soverign state made up of several countries Lets all keep it light hearted guys - I'm sure Mascherano just meant it in jest. Excellent deal - shame its not on the accoustic strings.

Good strings for a great price. voted hot.

Nice and cheap, but haven't played properly for years. At the time I used Ernie Ball Super Slinky's which were massively better than anything D'Addario made.

Really good price, hard to find one set for this price let alone two, thanks.

Prefer Rotosounds myself, but this is a great deal for some decent strings!

Maybe we should kick you out of the UK. See how you like that eh.

Thanks for the heads up, I use all kind of gauges, 9-42(e), 10-46(eb), 12-52(drop b) string gauge all depends on you scale length, tuning and preference.
Just because you use thicker strings doesn't mean your sound will be "bigger", Iommi used 8's and Slayer use 9-42's.

Great deal on my strings of choice.

Smithers37

You are even more stupid than I first thought, and less funny.

The free gift isn't available for the 10's - 9's feel too lite for me.

Great deal if you enjoy playing with 9's though, so voting hot.

damn it, didnt get the 10s because wanted to research first..now they are out

there are branches of guitarguitar in Scotland, whereas GAK only has the one store in Brighton?

Original Poster

Sucks for the non-English HUKDers, can't understand the discrepancy at all.

As has been said, the BOGOF no longer applies to the 10s, but 9s are still on.

So what axes are people putting these bad boys on? Mine's a Mexican standard Telecaster. I call her Whino, because she's in Midnight Wine, and if I really want to pish the neighbours off, I can make her whine like a biatch through my Marshall AVT100.

Is it possible to say, buy 5 packs and receive a total of 10?

Offer was put on by D'addario, they gave the retailers limited amounts of extra sets, all BOGOF sets are stickered BOGOF.
Agree with you about distributor issues aswell.
