I've seen this episode a few times, on the TV so how was this episode lost?
is it the one where Pike sends a memo to everybody.. each thinking they have the extra stripe?

sounds different to me

Captain Mainwaring is told that he can promote one of the privates in the platoon to lance-corporal and he chooses Frazer as being the most efficient. Unfortunately this leads to a bitter rivalry between Frazer - who keeps dishing out charge sheets and becomes unpopular - and Jones, culminating in a fight between the pair of them

I thought our TV licence fee had paid for this already.

I've already seen this episode, they enter Europe to try and negotiate a better deal but what they end up with is a load of old rubbish. It's hilarious!

Actually, it's a bit of a proverbial take having the cheek to charge for this individually - given the BBC is license fee funded!

Perhaps if the Beeb didn't splunk ridiculous amounts of cash up the wall - like paying that Alan Yentob (he of "Kids Company" fame) over £300K a year working part-time - it would have enough money to broadcast this "episode" to everyone on BBC1.

What next? Expect them to start releasing Season finales to popular shows like Dr Who on an exclusively pay-per-view basis!

So back in the day people paid for this to be made, then they paid again to watch it and now they want to charge us again. The BBC have the cheek of the devil.

It's re-animated and no one is forcing anyone to buy it. The timing is a bit on the nose with the movie coming out.

£2.99 is a tad steep for 29 minutes now if it were £0.99 I think we'd all be buying without complaints.

FYI The code TUBE50 works on other content too, not just the Dad's Army episode.
