This was posted the other day and I bought one. Very nice for the money.
Decent kettle, had one for a while now. It had a strong plastic smell and taste when new that persisted several boils. Eventually I got rid of it by boiling the new kettle filled to max, put it in the sink basin, boiled our old kettle, filled the new one right up to the brim with boiling water and closed the lid. That makes sure the releasing agents have been boiled off all the black plastic bits at the top. Leave it for a while, rinse it out and you should be good to go.
wont this be scaled as other kettles ?
Great deal! @merb0786
is this the same company that makes cars?

Depends where you live but yes, if your water is remotely hard then avoid this. It will look nice for a day or two then it'll look awful

Why not just filter your water before you boil?

Filtering doesn't do much to remove scale
Thank you OP, ordered. Amazon has for £28 and reviewers seem fairly happy, not too much to get boiled up about. Gosh that was a bad one. Especially on a scale of 1 to 10. Oh no. I hate myself sometimes.

It did for me. Brita filter remove a good bit of the lime in hard water.

But the British public still wouldn't buy them as they were ultimately a Daewoo rebadge so i believe they stopped trading in the uk 2015..... please do correct me if i am wrong...

Shame really the US performance Chevrolet ie camaro, corvette, etc are gorgeous but they just didn't really roll them out over here....

Considering an entry level camaro with exchange rates at the time would have been less than a ford focus they may have missed a trick..... Having said that I have watched too many 80s tv shows and so maybe I am a bit bias toward US muscle cars....... And black vans with red stripes..
They weren't Chevy's though, God knows what GM were thinking
Thank you for posting. We have added your thread to the Highlights pages.

The scale doesn't collect on the glass only in the bottom. We've had a Daewoo glass kettle for months now (the adjustable temperature version), in a very hard water area, there's no scale buildup on the glass sides, but there is on the element base.
