Just curious to know, Which part of uk gets soft water?
Got one the other week for 19.99 - pleased so far. Boils quick and is quiet. Can take filter out easy and get full access to inside and spout for cleaning if you have smaller hands.
Thames water so need a cheap source of descaler - still looking for that.
Imagine it will need regular e dry couple of weeks or so to keep looking good.

I just use a table spoon of lemon juice from one of those cheap bottles from Lidl or Aldi mixed with a tea spoon of bicarbonate of soda topped up with water. Seems to do the trick for me.

We use just neat lemon juice and heat it up a little and it gets rid of the limescale in ours, but the water where we are is so hard we have to use filtered water for kettles, it can literally start to scale in 2 boils!

I think the bicarbonate of soda just makes it fizz up cleaning it a bit quicker. Just watch it in a kettle though if you turn it on as it will really fizz up and boil over if you don't watch it!
Thank you ordered 2 and thank you for the discount code xx
At least you will take attention to limescale more when it appears
Thanks for posting, we have added this to the Highlights pages

The north, generally speaking.
Down here in the backwards south-west, we have a hardness rating of 325mg/l of calcium carbonate. It turns skin into dry sand.

I'm in Liverpool. I've had this kettle for 2 years and only had to descale it once. Although I probably only use it once or twice a day

I have a kettle like this. Thanks to the clear glass I could see limescale on the base within a few days. Otherwise a nice kettle

Better off using a stronger acid like white vinegar as it's also cheaper. Although you need a few rinses to wash out the vinegar smell.

North West is soft. I live in Manchester and my Siemens kettle which is over 16 years old has no scale at all in the bottom.

It shouldn’t be really that bad anywhere as the water moves around a lot when boiling, and they get a lot of use. If you rinse out your kettle now and again it should never get limescale.

I live in the north east and I can honestly say I’ve never descaled a kettle. We get absolutely no lime scale build up - it’s probably all the chemicals in our water!
I bought this the last time it was advertised on here. Good price but When pouring, water leaks out a bit on the side.
