Buy it! These cookers are great and this is the cheapest price around. Ive not used my conventional electric oven for the last eight years since i got my first halogen oven. Yes the bulb will blow eventually. Usually get 1-3 years out of a bulb (used 2-3 a day) Bulbs are replaceable but difficult as have to strip unit down. At this price, or £29.99 from Aldi, properly easier to buy new machine, though not as good for environment. This has 2 year warranty. Dont know details but Aldi is 3 years though bulb is only 6 months and of course Aldi only have them stocked, maybe, 3 times a year.

Have you actually ever used one of these ? I have. Bulb cannot be replaced unless you are skilled in soldering. |Mine went after a couple of weeks so I returned for a refund .
Cheap yes, but will inevitably end up in landfill when the bulb goes. Could be sooner than you think. And bulbs are often not covered by warranty as they are considered consumables.
you could say I was unlucky but I spent a bit more and got one with replaceable bulbs.

Exactly. Get one with replaceable bulbs,. I'm surprised these ones are allowed to be sold as they literally will be in landfill within 2 years unless you get lucky,
bulb cannot be considered as consumable when it is designed to be non replaceable.
Oos
Yeah, oos.

I bought one from when it was up last time. Its great for roasties, oven chips, chicken wings. It does take up a massive amount of worktop, and I'd say its awkward to balance the heavy lid on the stand sometimes. It's also fiddly to get the trays out. Despite that, if it comes back in stock, I'd buy another if mine died out of warranty.
The top looks like a pug with a Darth Vader helmet on.

It's definitely gone downhill since Disney took over!
Yes got one of these at Xmas offer, great bit of kit. Bit of an eyesore and large, but it does stuff lovely. Never try to clean the glass dish when its still warm as I have cracked 2 bowls in the past like that :-)
Happy for everyone who got one!! I was going to order mine in the morning but it’s now OOS!

Hope you've got a huge kitchen or at least huge storage cupboard. This isn't worth getting for a house smaller than 4 people.
Love mine & had it for well over a year now! Use it every other Sunday to do the chicken or beef in, which frees up room in my oven for the roasties & Yorkshires. Use it like a fan oven, temp wise otherwise everything will be slightly over cooked . Wasn't aware replacement bulb ones were available so when this one pops its clogs I'll definitely take a look

Set an alert for it as it will be back I'm sure
I thought about getting one of these over the years but thought it would be complicated to judge cooking times and then when a friend visited he told me he had one and a few of the lads had bought them too,so I decided to get one myself.
I only use my main oven for pizza now,my teenage son loves to use it,it's easy to use and the beauty is it doesn't need to be preheated and my main oven used to take over 20 mins to get to 220 and while I was pre heating the main oven I would often forget it was doing that and be burning gas for an hour or 2.
I find it's even quicker than fan timings,I use a surge protection plug with mine to protect the bulb that cost £5, and also never use the wash setting so no hot water getting heated that makes steam and fat rise to the halogen bulb

Nope, - I have one similar size (as they all are) - the size is ideal for 1/2 people and I dont have a"huge" kitchen,You just need a
bit of worktop space. Though I wouldn't buy this one.

Fine, good luck lugging this back down to the store when it blows.
Hope you keep the box and the receipt and see how you get on.

I and every member of my family has a halogen oven. Ive changed numerous bulbs from a variety of brands. Never had to solder wires, they have all been crimp clamps. If soldered, the wire could still be cut and crimped instead of resoldering if thats an issue. Replacement is difficult and fiddly but not outside the realms of competent diyer. For the price I doubt many would bother with the hassle. As for landfill, most of the unit is recyclable and the glass bowl can be re-purposed with some imagination. As others have said, these take up a fair amount of worktop space and placing the lid when taking it off can be a pain at times but its still worth it for the results of its cooking, speed and power consumption.
Patr10031/01/2020 12:23

I wouldn't buy this one.

I and my family have purchased numerous brands over the years, at some different price points but have found no real difference in them. Indeed, I'd be surprised if they are not all coming out of one factory. From my experience I would not pay more that the cheapest price I could find. Im currently using this Daewoo one. No problems. In fact, it has a couple of nice features Ive not had before like the heat resistant rubber cover on the extension ring, useful, and the mesh trays.

That's a good spot if you want it asap,I can't recommend these baking trays enough if you get one amazon.co.uk/HaW…8-9

Along with a lot of other people that bought 10" non stick trays that the finish peeled and often rusted, those stainless steel trays above wash well and have been brilliant.

Look decent. I've got an old enamel "camping" plate, works well. Do you find that having a solid plate on the top rack makes anything on the bottom cook super slowly?

I couldn't tell you sorry,I have only used one area at a time I use the higher rack for sausages, pork chops etc and use the trays for burgers, fish etc and anything else that the norm would be to use a baking tray.
I only cook for 2 people so it has suited me fine.Moneysaving expert forums are good for asking about things like this as there's a lot of people on it.
