A single tuner is a false economy unless it was £30 or less. Pay a bit more and get a dual tuner PVR.

I've had one of these for over a year now. I got it for £80 ish which was a bargain at the time. Have to say it's a decent enough machine although I would agree these days go for a twin tuner version (they were a lot more expensive when I bought this one). It would be ideal on a 2nd tv. You do need to have an excellent signal or else buy a booster as Ch5 was unwatchable on mine until I hooked on a booster and I'm in a good reception area!

Other electrical equipment do cause slight picture hiccups too. I have a fish tank in same room and when the heater switches on there is a slight blackout in picture and sound!

Overall for this price is a hot deal but only as a second tv add-on.

I have had one for a year, it works okay but crazes me that I can only record the programme that I am watching!
One of the main advantages of these should be that you can watch one programme while recording another, otherwise it's fairly pointless.
It's okay to record when you go to bed, or are out of the house, but that's about all.

I now just use this in the kitchen, mainly as a digibox, while I have purchased a twin-tuner Thomson for the lounge. It is a far superior machine and I can record two channels simultaneously while watching a third.

Save your money and get a twin tuner model.

After reading the awful reviews of this I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole!

Sorry OP - on the surface it does seem like a good price but I guess there is a reason it has been reduced so much.

I bought one of these when they were new, it wouldn't receive ITV 1 and I lived close to the Winter Hill transmitter, so took it back to Dixons and asked if it was a known fault, they said no and exchanged it for another which was the same so I exchanged it for another make. Some weeks later I got a reply to my email from Daewoo saying that it was a known fault. This was a long time ago and I'm sure that the problem has been fixed, but why did they put it on sale in the Granada TV region?

I would only get a twin tuner as well. I have the Thomson one that you are talking about (I think) its a great machine
