Heh. "With thanks to junk4 for pointing this deal out 10 minutes ago..." X)

With the legend that is Nile Rodgers on board, I hope this is a return to form as Human After All is not great on record though it came alive er, live. Then I didn't like Discovery anywhere near as much as everyone else did. Homework on the other hand and its twisted cousin Alive 97 are landmark electronic releases.

Yeah yeah, cool story bro. I know.

As unhelpful as ever. Is your helpful star meant to be ironic?

Great price, I hope it's as good as discovery!

Already got on this day one - most anticipated album this year for me! Love this!

Frankly pooing myself with excitement about this album. Going to be epic! Thanks op.

I don't understand, it's the same price at iTunes?

Some people like physical copies.

wow looks so cool

Pre-ordering an album which you've never heard a single song from seems rather strange. I've seen people spending 25 quid on the vinyl, kinda cringe worthy. The marketing behind this is something else!

Didn't know a new album was due out. Great!

Heat added. Looks good!

Didn't think much of their first album (Disney one with the motor bikes)

And not sure what that mouse head is all about..

I'll stick to 70s music like Steve wonder, and James brown etc thank you very much

The 'first' album you're referring to is the score to Tron: Legacy that they composed and performed - they signed on for that project because Tron was one of their favourite films as kids (as it was mine incidentally).

Their debut album Homework was their strongest album (and my favourite), and Discovery their most pop(ular). Human After All was their third, which was still good but more abstract/too electronic for some people's tastes. They released a live album too, called Alive 2007 which was excellent, and have released tons of music videos with filmmakers like Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry, as well as some full-length music video compilations - D.A.F.T and Interstellar 5555 - as well as directing a film called Electroma.

This new album features disco hero Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rogers from Chic, and possible appearances from jazz musician Nathan East of Fourplay fame, Canadian pianist Chilly Gonzalez, Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes, garage kingpin Todd Edwards, and Animal Collective's Noah Lennox aka Panda Bear. It has been 8 years since their last studio album (Human After All), and myself being a huge fan of Thomas Bangalter in particular (Roulé label, soundtracks etc.), I cannot wait. Each to their own.

Nile Rodgers and Johnny Marr do Le Freak...

Just to try to bring the miserable indie boys into great funky music...

Its Daft Punk.

Its Daft Punk.

Ah yes who never released a bad song, let alone album.............
As evident from comments above the marketing/the album in general is a hipster's wet dream.
As a massive Daft Punk fan, just as much as the fellow above, except I don't need a massive, patronising, Pitchfork-esque spiel to prove it, I'll reserve my decision on whether to purchase it until I have actually hard at least one song from the album.

Can't wait for this. Excellent.

I agree its very strange and spending £25 quid on a vinyl is a bit sad.

It's almost as sad as calling yourself Daft Punk because you love them so much...oh wait

Pitchfork-esque? It's more "Pitchfork-esque" to look down on others mate. Just enjoy the music.

Heard the 15-second demo on a loop before knowing about the album and immediately thought I need this song. IMO betting £9 for an album of one my favourite band is quite fair

Like others have stated i loved Homework and Alive but IMO they went downhill with the release of Discovery, i certinaly won't be pre-ordering this. I will wait to hear it upon release:)

Why all the hate around the hukd world? You all should do your homework? This album will be harder, better, faster and stronger, but above all it will be aerodynamic. Now I know television rules the nation, but aren't we all human after all? Just make love, and relax to da funk...

Kids today.
If this is half as good as The Prodigy when they came back its worth it's weight in gold.

Wasn't he obviously trolling? The Deadmau5 comment gave it away ;p

The song that plays on RandomAccessMemories.com makes it sound like they're trying to live past glories with a Harder Better Faster Stronger 2. I definitely need a bunch of reviews before I buy it. Hated Human After All and the Tron soundtrack but loved Alive 2007 because it actually remixed Human After All songs into something worth listening to

If you've not heard of Jackson and His Computer Band, check out his album Smash while you're waiting: UtopiaArpeggioFast Life

Personally, most of the stuff coming out of France I have enjoyed since the Daft Punk's heyday comes from Mr Oizo. Pretty much everything he's done is great.

The Prodigy experience album and music for the jilted generation were fantastic, after smack my bitch up it was all down hill from there.......

Extended clip of "get lucky" from the Coachella festival... Can't wait for this album!

Amazing, can't wait for the full album!!

Everyone who doesn't like this album, should read this post:

How long have you been listening to Daft Punk? Because this happens every … How long have you been listening to Daft Punk? Because this happens every time a new DP album comes out. I've been around since Homework and I remember people being outraged when One More Time came out. "What is this disco-pop ****?". People expected more house music. People were disappointed with HAA because it wasn't accessible like Discovery. So now people are upset that RAM isn't like what they're familiar with. It happens every time. Daft Punk will never give you the same thing twice and that's why they're great. Just doing what worked before is easy. This is different. I think it's brilliant and if you disagree that's fine but I just don't know why you'd expect anything different from Daft Punk.

Fantastic album. Free to stream on iTunes at the moment for those who might not know.

See my post here : hotukdeals.com/fre…801

It's not what I (perhaps incorrectly) expected, but I am enjoying it. It's growing on my rapidly.

Ordered from Sainsbury's, thanks OP

Guessing it will be album of the week on Amazon ... holding out for the MP3 album at £4.99.

This price is not guaranteed of course!
