For those of you that don't know the Daily Mirror have an e-edition of their daily newspaper that is free to read Monday to Friday. You can also subscribe to the weekend editions for a small fee.

Other papers that are free to read includes the Metro, London Evening Standard, The Sheffield Star, Boston Standard, Birmingham Mail and Wirral News. Just search for the name in Newsstand.

The best thing is, apart from Metro the digital version is exactly the same content as the proper newspaper page for page! It's just like your reading the real thing! Well I guess you are

The Daily Star also have an e-edition but with a subscription. Worth noting though is that when I downloaded it, it never asked for me to subscribe, not even as a trial subscription which is what happens with other newspapers. It has been working fine for a week or so. A subscription page may come up eventually though I don't know but it could be worth the download to see what happens.

EDIT: It seems like most of these apps are only compatible with tablet devices and not mobiles. Sorry guys! I have since edited the title. Also added Birmingham Mail and the Wirral News.

Cool! It looks to be a £9.99 subscription on the iPad

Hot! I knew about the Mirror but not the Sheffield Star (which covers South Yorkshire) or the Guardian.

Is the Daily Mirror nor available via Newstand?

Says its not compatible with S3?

It looks like today's Sheffield Star is missing the paper edition on iPad... All that's displayed is blank pages. oO

Usually it works fine. If you've only just found out about the Sheffield Star e-edition try looking at the archived editions to see what you should be getting. I'm guessing it will be fixed tomorrow.

Anyone else not even able to find most of them... if I search for Sheffield Star for instance it comes up with Apps and Books but nothing for newsstand.

Same for Daily Mirror.... only way I can find anything is via the Top News section of the Newsstand area but only the ones listed.

I haven't read a copy of the Mirror in years; not since New Labour ditched socialism.

Just downloaded mirror app for Android, looks good, easy to glance through paper and just tap on an article to read it. My mum loves it as its really easy to use and will save a lot of money buying paper each day and just buy weekend papers now. App crashed a couple of times but reloaded quickly so not really a problem at the moment. Thanks for sharing :-)

Not comptable with the Galaxt tab 3 or Moto g apparantly.

London Evening Standard free on IOS.
It really is a good newspaper, so much so that I cancelled my Telegraph subscription

I don't think so - it's £11.99 per month after the 2 week free trial (Google "Guardian Android Ediition")

I have just started to use Google Play Newsstand .. which was preinstalled on my Galaxy Tab 3 ... it features Guardian, Telegraph, Independent, FT, NYT and Sports Talk and I think you can add whatever else you need. Works well for me ... have already got the Daily Mirror app.

not bad at all for free . thanks

Note compatible with Note3 lol

Daily mail is a racist paper regularly targeting, demonising and propagating hate against our minority communities

E.g I can guarantee some kind of anti Muslim/Islamic story in this Mondays edition

We want peace - not propoganda

Don't read The Sun and The Mirrors racist.

Bore off you lefty mugs..!

Yawn

cold, you'd need to pay me to read any of those

I'm as right wing as they come, so there is nothing for me here.
