Maybe people would prefer to pay an extra £20 for the 1TB version from ]Play.com

Or perhaps they want to playback MKV files like the WD TV player - requires USB HD.
Even if they don't use the mkv container, I'm not convinced that this can playback hi-def at all - sure it outputs 720p, but I doubt it copes this hi resolution source material, unlike, for instance the ]Sumvision Cyclone Micro Media Player for £29 - requires USB HD (MPEG1/2/4(MPG, VOB, AVI), DivX (avi), XviD (avi), resolution up to 720 x 480 30fps).
