Saw this was mispriced on their site (but the wrong way round!) and asked them to change it and this was the result. Dane-Elec drives are usually much faster than Kingston or Sandisk drives at the same price. This one is:

Write 8.8 MB/s
Read 17.6 MB/s

Edit: Ugh HUKD changed the link when it submitted and won't let me edit it... It's 7dayshop.com/cat…278

product not found.. lol:p

This looks like very similary (apart from the colour) to the play/integral ones I got earlier this year, they are very fast compared to others out there

you can get Sandisk Cruzer or Kingston traveller for 17.99 / 15.99 .

Both of those drives are quite slow. Kingston Datatraveller is 10MB/sec read, 5MB/sec write if their site is to be believed but from the reviews it gets I'd say that's very generous. Sandisk Cruzer is rated at 7MB/sec read, 5MB/sec write at the only place I can find any info.

Have you personally tried these? are they any better?

I haven't personally tried any of them. I can only go on the specs and the reviews.

not voted, but personally i wouldn't pay any-more than a £1 for a gig

For a couple of quid it seems people want to wait a long time to copy their files. I'd pay 4 quid to get back a day of my life, that's for sure

For someone who haven't tested the brand and only relying on reviews, you seem to be defending them a little bit too much.

I'd pay more for speed, but it's reliability I'm after!

I've had kingstons and sandisks that lived for years without any deterioration in performance...

More defending my deal that I'd gone to the trouble of putting up for a known respected make. Can't be bothered with the grief I get on all my deals, I'm retiring.
