John Murdoch (Rufus Sewell) awakens alone in a strange hotel to find he is wanted for a series of brutal murders. His memories have vanished and even his beautiful wife, Emma (Jennifer Connelly) has become estranged from him. So begins a quest to unravel the mysteries of his past; a quest that will take him into a fiendish underworld where he is relentlessly pursued by the police and a gang of shadow-like beings known as the Strangers and where only the sinister Doctor Schreber (Keifer Sutherland) is able to help him.

Excellent under-rated film by the director of The Crow.

excellent and sad movie.

Brilliant film

haven't seen this, thanks

Great film....but I'd recommend getting the French Special Edition DVD...its worth it for the menus alone!

The Matrix=Dark City Plagiarised......top film. Dark City sets were even used for some of the Matrix films by all acounts....top film, very under rated.....excellent price

Not bad, but if you're a big fan of the film you might want to plump for the Director's Cut which is ]£5.99 at Play.com. It's three quid more, admittedly, but it has commentaries and, most importantly, it's the version of the film the director wanted to make. Which largely means it has the whole Keifer Sutherland exposition bit removed from the start of the film. This bit of dialogue was added at the studios request because they thought Joe Public would be confused.

This film is excellent, to those who haven't seen it, BUY IT NOW !!!

I was going to post the same suggestion. I'd also strongly suggest spending a bit more to get the directors cut. Some films don't really benefit from having a few tweaks, but this one really does.
If you buy this one and like it, you'll only end up wanting to buy the directors cut later...

Voted hot - I'm sure, I watched this on tv not long ago?

Very good suggestion - the theatrical cut is awful and goes entirely against the whole idea of the film.

wasnt it on tcm last weel

Great film for sure but worth noting that this version is not in Dolby Digital 5:1 sound  only prologic. If that isn't an issue then great but i would hunt for one that is.

genius. watch it.

Looks like it's expired plus I would recommend against buying this version of the film, as mentioned earlier this seems to be the theatrical cut only (which should never have existed) rather than the director's cut which is the proper one.
