It’s been this price a few times, once a long time ago it was £12.99 but I missed that deal.
but this is really good still for 4K as well.

I wish amazon would sell box sets!
Already have the blu ray's but seriously tempted by this. Anyone able to comment on if the 4k looks much better than the blu ray?
Wish it was this price on Google play

Not sure if this is allowed or not but I buy Google Play codes off other sites. They can range for £2 upwards pending on the film. Bought a load recently of films that I don't mind not being in 4K that are cheaper than iTunes.

The 4K is pretty good, only slight letdown is no imax ratio scenes for Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises.

The 4K and, more noticeable the HDR, offers a significant upgrade from the Blu Ray. However the iTunes versions don’t have the switching aspect ratio for IMAX scenes in Dark Knight or DKR.
Still a great price though.

Used to do the exact same thing. Built up a big collection there.

Then I saw unlike other places Google won't be upgrading films to newer formats for free.
Which is fine if you really don't care about 4k. But they haven't even upgraded non HD films into HD for free.
Personally I am of the opinion if you have bought a digital movie on a platform. And that platform has a 4k option of that film, you should be able to watch in that format without having to pay again.
Companies asking you to buy digital films over and over just because of a new resolution are the enemy in my book.

Completely agree, I only buy if really cheap and try not to look to see if in 4K on iTunes which is where I buy most of my movies from.

iTunes doesn’t upgrade SD to HD either, only applies for HD to 4K.

That Isn't actually true. I had Princess Bride in SD years ago and now it has been upgraded to 4k.
I don't think iTunes sells different resolutions does it? It matches whatever your device is?

If you own SD you have to pay to get the HD.
I think what your seeing is you’re looking in the TV app which incorrectly shows SD as 4K, look in the Movie store app via ATV or play them back and you’ll see they’re not actually playing back in 4K when pressing back on the remote (or swiping down on the remote if playing back via the movies app)
Most of mine that were SD I’ve replaced, here’s one in my US account that I haven’t done so as of yet.

If you go to the iTunes Store App and search for Princess Bride and have a look you may see it’s the same as above.
If you do actually have it in 4K then you’re lucky as it isn’t the norm.

Thanks for your reply though. Also my account is UK. I don't have a US one.

If you look in your library you will see this at the bottom right

Via my UK account I had Transformers 3, Inception, MI Rogue Nation which were all SD and never got an upgrade.
What are you using to get that screenshot as I don’t see anything like that on iOS or iTunes on the laptop(well to be honest I’ve not used the laptop in ages so wouldn’t even know what that looks like)

Just remembered I’ve also got The Expendables in SD and again no upgrade.

Still far far better on disc. IMAX actually fills your screen on disc cos they aren’t hamstringing the quality

The screenshot was from my computer.
This is a pic of it on my tv (Samsung Qled 80r)

Maybe you have that setting in the menu selected which says something about restricting to SD if internet isn't fast enough?

You’ve definitely got it 4K, I think you were just lucky with this one, either that or you had HD all along without realising it as there are not usually SD to HD upgrades with iTunes as if there were there would only be one purchase option.
There’s two quality options SD and Higher Quality and both sold at different prices.

Never quite understood why people like the switching ratio for imax scenes. I actually find it annoying when it switches ratios - imo should be the same ratio throughout. Just an opinion though, each to their own!

What happens then during the imax scenes then? Because if they stay letterbox then thereust be 'extra' at the sides?

Purchased this on my Samsung TV via the Apple TV app. However I have no Dolby digital. Other movies have DD on the same app. Anyone else have this?
