Dark Rock Pro 3 @Amazon - £50.38 (Prime Exclusive)

The best price its ever been on amazon, according to the three wise camels.

Recently Novatech were doing this for the same price and I think amazon must have price matched. Has excellent reviews and is nearly on par with the Noctua D15.

The cooler is huge though, and it weighs like a brick!

I guess it's price matching the price (inc. delivery) over at Novatech here.

I've currently got a Noctua D14 SE2011, been looking at these and the Coolermaster that's on Amazon for £75. But cannot get a definitive answer looking at benchmarks if I'll see any improvement. Each site seems to give different benchmarks.

I'd be very surprised if you get lower temps than you do with the Noctua, that cooler is pretty much top end, the only thing likely to beat it is another Noctua.

Good luck keeping your sanity installing this cooler (just search BeQuiet! Dark Rock 3 Installation on youtube) I returned it and bought a Noctua instead.

That might be the case. I might get the new black fans Noctua are doing now. Thanks

I got one of those last week (I presume you mean the ones with the coloured mounts), great fan and very quiet.

For those buying, it's easier to mount the motherboard to this than it to the motherboard.

It actually not that bad - people fail to read instructions and complain - if you mount motherboard to cooler instead of cooler to motherboard seems to be best way

I went for this cooler as could not get Noctua to fit and when researching it was actually not to far behind the noctua

Yeah after watching a video it is super simple to install. It has taken my Xeon 1231 down from 40 degree to 30. I used to use a hyper 212 with a noctua fan. I was concerned about noise levels as the silent PC review wasnt overly favourable, but I am really happy. My PC is basically silent now.

Most benchmarks show the Noctua as the better cooler but I went for this one as it's not far off and it's a lot nicer looking imo. If you already have the Noctua not much point in changing.

Yeah that's them. I noticed they are now available on Amazon Prime. I'm trying to work out whether it's better to buy fans or a new cooler.

What rig are you running that a D14 won't keep it cool enough, or is it a reduction in noise you're looking for?

@no_Sunshine This will be a great buy for your high end, quad core, Optane, 1080Ti rig!

To be fair my D14 is silent and cool. That's with a 4790k but I have a 8700k on order. So wanted to upgrade my cooler.

This is what put me off these. I like the look and design, but where the noctua is to easy to install (we need some sort of challenge) the BQ looked like a broken window waiting to happen.

I hate the look of my Noctua but it was ridiculously easy to fit and, as some people say, it's the difference between people new to system building deciding building a system is easy and fun and someone saying this is no fun at all, fiddly piece of dot-dot-dot. I do much prefer the look of the BQ Dark Rock Pro, though, aesthetically, even if the Noctua is a little bit cooler running (though does that matter as much with CPUs, these days, I think they run cooler under load than previous generations, able to spin the fans slower, no need for water cooling and their pumps; though I suppose for extreme overclockers, those are a better choice).

Anway, back on topic, hot because I always liked the aesthetics of that model and the price is decent.
