Dark Sky is an accurate up-to-date weather app like no other. With down-to-the-minute forecasts, you’ll know exactly when the rain will start or stop, right where you're standing.

The app is a YEARLY subscription however it's only £3 a year (for Android)

IOS USERS will have to pay £3.99 for the app. (This should include a subscription or may even be a one off payment. don't quote me on it however.)

i have been using this app for a while and will not use another weather app again. The app is very accurate and i've only had a few problems when its raining and it hasn't said it is. But it updates after a minute or so.

I highly recommend it.

Maybe the Met office should buy this app too!
I’ve had this app for a long time on iOS. I have only ever been charged the initial cost of the app. The notifications are okay - but it requires use of GPS (and it uses it a lot!) so it’s a bit of a battery drain. I’d still recommend it though.
I use this on Android, very accurate for rain forecasting. One of the very few apps I've ever bought.
I just keep metcheck open in a browser.
So where is the actual deal?
Is this a deal? Isn't £3 a year the normal price?
Not sure this is too different to the normal price (please correct me if I'm wrong) but I can't recommend this enough. Even a five minute warning to get the washing in is well worth it. Ideal if like me you like to go walking as allows you to plan and the long range and short term forecasting was spot on for the recent snow too. £3 a year well spent!
Thanks op for sharing
If you are just interested in if it is going to rain, then 'Rain Today' on Android gives rain alerts for free (website link here but it should take you to the app, as I couldn't link that)
raintoday.co.uk/
You also get a radar view on it that you can watch for the hour ahead (free)
I used this for a few months and found it terribly inaccurate.
Now not eligible for a refund so that's 4 quid down the drain along with all the rain it didn't warn me about.
I use the web page darksky.net and save it to my home screen. Just as good and free.
So it tells you up to the minute when it's raining?.
Can't you just look up ? That's still free right?

It also estimates how long it will rain for, and when it'll start again... that sort of thing.

Same here. Exactly the same source data as the app but in mobile desktop format....and it saves you £3.99

That's the regular price for it? Not exactly a deal. But couldn't fault the app. Been using it over a year now and gives accurate rain times and warnings. Perfect for planning when to run out to get lunch from work without getting soaked
Extremely inaccurate. Hail outside and said clear.
