That's for a different Console though. Are we supposed to vote every PS4/XB1 game cold that's cheaper on PC? It doesn't make sense.
Still the cheapest portable version of the game. As someone with a wife and two kids being able to play away from the TV is worth every penny

I agree, I feel I get a lot more value from the switch titles...
And being carts they still hold thier resale value for longer
Does suck they generally cost more though

Switch owners are more likely to have one of the other home consoles and less likely to have a pc that would be up to spec of running dark souls, if portability is not that important then the “switch tax” feels like a slap in the face.

I would disagree. People who have high end computers, would go for the switch as their games are very unique and console itself. Xbox or ps, 70% of their games on steam. Nintendo is like stupidly less.

Cheapest is around £7 for a steam version
However theres many issues..
- The official servers for DS1 shut down and were repurposed for DS3
- The engine is buggy
- The game is incredibly unoptimised for PC

However this new remaster version is coming to PC also, it will bring new players to the PC version, improve optimisation, the engine bugs will be sorted (hopefully), and will have servers purposed to host for players

I agree with you.
I got a pretty high end pc with a 5820k/1080Ti/ rift vr, etc
Still bought a switch and use it loads=)

You rarely see the prepare to die edition drop lower than £19.99, even today. (I can see it dropping when this is released though just like the price of the regular version of DS2 when SotFS came out).

I do agree though, with DSfix and a HD textures this will probably be AS good looking as the remasters. However, the PC, PS4 and XO Remastered versions will run a tonne better because while you can release the FPS from their locked 30 on the PC it messes with a lot of things like player/enemy animations which are designed for the locked 30. Does this does add the chance of instant death when using ladders though, which can only be considered a bonus to masochistic DS players, surely?
Ridiculous pricing over here considering all versions are the same price $40 in the US - just UK retailers here ripping people off not the usual switch tax

I wouldn't worry about that. If there IS a difference, people will just start importing as Switch games are region free.

Yea i just have my gaming laptop, bit outdated with only the 980m... The last powerful console i been playing on was the 360.... obviously own the wii, wii u and now switch. Not saying nintendo makes the best console.

Agree with you bud, cheaper on PC is pointless if you don't have a PC to play it on! Just highlighting that most people will vote cold because they will think the other way

Same here, got a gaming pc but rarely get time to play it, the Switch is so easy to pick up and play I'm able to pay while the kids are napping

Not only that but probably very wrong.
Most people I know who own a switch (adult wise) are mainly pc gamers that couldn't justify buying a console.
I bought the Switch, even while having a killer pc because it offer me what a PS4 or Xbox couldn't. Good games on the go and some really nice exclusives!

Total nonsense, I have a gtx 1080 and a Switch. It's the perfect combo in my opinion. The Switch is awesome, I play it every day.

Unlike my PS4 pro which once id hooked my PC up to the TV ended up gathering dust. I may get an Xbox one for the UHD player though.

Not true, It's currently £9 at instant gaming for the ptd edition, I have also seen it as low as £6 in the past couple of weeks.

Dark Souls 1 on PC is a nightmare to get to run properly. Loads of issues with Windows 10 that are hackable, but not really ideal for the average gamer to deal with.

Can’t wait for all the floods of tears from kids that buy this then just get destroyed 75 times by the first enemy before trading it in for rayman.

Apologies. I've not looked in the last few months as I waited about 6 months and found it rarely dropping from around £20.

I purchased for around £17 back in August just to play the Artorias of the Abyss dlc as I had not played it when I finished it on PS3..

£9 and even £6are excellent prices for one of my favourite games of all time.

I've always found the Souls games to be incredibly fair in their difficulty. You died? Totally your own fault.

Dunno, I know quite a few other PC gamers who have a switch too, it's the perfect combo.

Also like to add that I have Skyrim modded to the max on the PC, it looks mind blowingly good. But that hasn't stopped me getting it on the Switch and sinking 100+ hours into it. It's a whole new experience playing it on the Switch whilst out and about, worth every penny of the rrp. I'm sure Dark Souls will be another game worth experiencing on the Switch.

Agree. I often have to travel from North to South and vice versa for work. Dark Souls on a commute. Winning imho.... As a PC gamer.

I had skyrim in my hand at game last week when it was £31, couldn’t bring myself to buy it.
LOL From couldnt port this to PC properly but when they can sell it for £40 on a sale they sure do make an effort to port to consoles? Still who wants to play this on switch? no one who even likes these kinda games owns one lol...
I don't get how a company can sell a remastered game for full retail price. Should be £30 max.
I have a gaming PC and I still bought DOOM, Skyrim and I'll be getting this on the Switch.

The freedom to play games wherever you want, without being tied to a TV/monitor is amazing.
Unfortunatly I have to vote cold, while this may be cheaper than elsewhere £40 for an 8 year old game is not a deal....

Sorry may not have come across as I meant, I wasn't having a go. Many games these days are way too dumbed-down in terms of difficulty. Kids these days have only ever known auto-save.

I own a Switch, PS4Pro and a Gaming PC. I have bought games I could easily buy on the PC or PS4 for cheaper but haven't because of the convenience of the portable mode on the Switch.

Although I won't be buying Dark Souls as it's a pretty crap game in my opinion.

Compared to 2016 your perception was accurate - really wasn't on sale in 2017 - I was a bit surprised when I peeped the chart (although it excludes some stores). Watched my buddy play through Oolacile over New Year; practically a tradition now. Good times! Well, for me watching anyway
