Dark Souls - The Board Game @ Kickstarter

Found 6th May 2016
Not sure if kickstarter projects are allowed but this may be of interest to some.

Full details on the linked kickstarter page but basically Dark Souls 1-3 in board game format.

To those that say this is not a deal, currently the basic pledge is £80.00 (plus p&p - charge tbc) but the makers estimate the total retail value of the bundle at over £180.00, so definitely worth getting in early if you're interested. The game is scheduled to ship around April 2017.

If you're even mildly interested in Dark Souls or board games in general it is definitely worth a look.

£80 per person to develop a boardgame? Mugs.

£80 per person to develop a boardgame? Mugs.

not really for a small company...BIG companies charge 60+ for big games, so new companies dont have discounted printing...

however it does depend how much is in it cause i want a lot for 80 quid
This is no ordinary board game. The quality will be exceptional. I'll be buying 100%, but it's not a deal
£50,000 goal..

They got over 2million. Jesus

I think you're getting a lot with this, potentially more to be added in as more stretch goals are unlocked
I also think you get alot for your money. If you like board games (which I do), then this is for you.

However, 80 bones is alot to stick to down for a kickstart.
I'll stick to monopoly & hungry hippos.

They estimate the retail value to be over £180?!
I estimate it to be worth one million dollhairs.
This is not a deal. However, I think posts like this should be allowed on here. There have been a number of posts over the years that haven't really been deals but have drawn heat based on how interesting the idea is or how excited people are at a forthcoming release etc. These things would otherwise pass some of us by. I, for one, don't use any social media aside from direct message services and PSN and as such have been introduced to a number of things that I may never have known of thanks to HUKD users.

This particular one is not for me but the sentiment remains. Thanks OP.
if you role an incorrect number you have to get a kicking from all the others players. And start from the last ten paces back. oh and stick a knife in your hand, true authentic dark should experience
Modern high end boardgames are super expensive, just take a look at things like Star Wars Armada or something similar, we are not dealing with monopoly or snakes and ladders here. The people who have voted this cold know literally nothing about the market of these kind of things. The stretch goals that have been unlocked have added a load of content to the Dark Souls boardgame making it one of the better value high end boargames out there. Of course with any kickstarter you run the risk of delayed release or maybe even the item not being released at all, but when a kickstarter reaches this kind of level of funding you are pretty much guaranteed to see the item. Also the people behind this are experienced board game producers so they know what they are doing.

In my opinion in a few years these will be super collectible and will far exceed the £80 investment and the people that didn't back this will be kicking themselves.

Just in case anyone thinks that this shouldn't be in the deals section.

looks epic, thanks for the heads up
Considering what you get compared to the retail price I would consider this a deal. It won't be for everyone. But that is miniature based board games for you.
You're not buying a product, you're buying the hope that they finish it and ship.

There is a possibility you'll get nothing if they go bust. It's happened to a few $million+ kickstarters before (one just last week!). And when it happens you lose the money and get nothing.
Everyone who voted cold and/or thinks this is a bad deal needs their head checking.

Think about how much minis cost at games workshop and then tell me it's a bad deal. At the moment, you're getting roughly 1 mini per £1... If that doesn't sway you then you're crazy. Games workshop and even cheap miniature companies like reaper with there bones line costs around £5 for their cheapest minis.
Not really in to boardgames but if the quality is as high as promised then that is a great price.

It's sarcasm I don't play board games anymore.

The clue is in the title of this website....

Where is the deal?

As I said in my original post you're paying £80 for something that's going to cost at least £180 in the shops, is a £100 saving not a deal?

That's if this product makes it to the shops - it's currently not a deal. I'll grant that there's a good deal of speculation though!

As if most of the people who have joined in to vote it down will have any idea about the price of items in Games Workshop.
Don't even play board games, but I want one.
