I have the base game, is it worth paying £11.99 for just the dlc? is there a lot of content please?

There is no dlc for scholar of the first sin so if you already have this on disk then no, it isnt worth it...

If by base game you mean you only have plain old vanilla Dark Souls 2 then Scholar of the First Sin is 100% worth it. It's got a near locked 60fps, has all the DLC and remixes a lot of enemy types and placement so the game feels fresh and different enough from vanilla DS2 to make double dipping worth it.

OK thanks for the responses guys

When you say base game do you just mean DS2 on a different console? The PS4 only had the version with all the DLC.

Ah I've been looking for a physical copy of this one. Got excited for a moment. Heat though.

Indeed. It's been on sale for two weeks already, and expires in a few days. But who are we smelly old HUKD regulars to judge?

I have been pondering repurchasing, but my save game is at such a hard point in the game, I could only imagine a frustrating 2 hours of getting no where fast and assigning to my pile of shame.

But for anyone that has not previously purchased or those wanting to replay from the beginning, then yes dark souls 2 is a must own and play game.

I'm unsure, but one place is where all the green goo keeps been spat out / explodes at you and few other places where I cannot make it through, I must of completed a good 75 percent of the game. It is pure quality

Ahh, I know the area well. You can generally get set up with some decent anti-poison armour & plants for when you do get poisoned. The giants underneath are fun too

For this price, you'd be crazy not to. I just wish I had the time to complete the DLC, as I also have Bloodborne & DS3 waiting for me

There is one part of the dlc that is totally amazing guy has a big version of the moonlight sword

I'm currently trying to get through Twilight Princess on the WiiU, then to get back on with Last Guardian. Plus got Watchdogs 2, too & The Uncharted Collection to finish (just got 3 left), then The Last of Us. Got Tales from the Borderlands recently too, but still need to finish Borderlands 2. Then there's all the PS+ games I need to crack on with & then the Indy games I bought, plus Bayonetta 2 that I started aaages ago & the rest of my games on the WiiU. Then there's my 360 back catalogue & the games on my PS3.

Having kids really does put a dent into one's gaming time :'(

I also really want Nioh & Resi 7(need PSVR 1st).

I don't have any kids , but I do have a wife....but she is really good about me playing my games and often falls asleep between 8.30pm and 9pm so I still grab a couple of hours most evenings....but with most games been minimum 10 hours and upto 30 plus hours , it is not easy keeping up with all the great available games. ! it is a hard life , but somebody has to play them

Newborn baby in this gamer's household! My girlfriend and I have started taking him individually for a couple of hours at a time, while the other gets some much-needed leisure/sanity time.

It's heartening to hear I'm not alone. We should start a support group X)

Well I am very glad I repurchased DS2, I have made fairly good progression this evening, I'm currently at Central earthen peak, but I cannot manage the jump across where the bodies is on the ledge with a Knight type baddie just beyond him... Time for a Google!

A support group to come round to our houses & look after our kids whilst we play games?? haha

How old's your new born? We have a 4 week old & a near 18 month old. With the 1st, the missus & I would co-op Borderlands 2 whilst he slept, but now with two, there's no chance, so the only gaming I've been able to get of late is a bit of Clash of Clans whilst sat on the bog

Which Jump are you referring to?

Haha! I feel for you, brother. We have a six week-old here, so it's maybe a little early to expect any sort of routine. I've been playing a lot of Vita stuff, when I'm able to cradle him and contort my hands at the same time X)

The weekend was glorious though. I took him for a few hours then got two whole hours playing Yakuza on the PS3. Never appreciated gaming more, haha! It's actually quite nice looking after him in wee shifts, as we're getting a chance to bond with him individually rather than both of us fussing over him constantly. Same again this weekend please!

This is why I've been on the WiiU recently - can get my Zelda fix on the tablet Also one of the reasons I really want a Switch.

I take it you're bottle feeding? We couldn't really do shifts as she's the one who feeds him from the boobies. It did work out well though at bed times with the 1st one, as it left me with some time for Dark Souls

That's exactly what I thought about the Switch! It's ideal in that respect. Expensive though.

It's boobie mania here too, though I'll feed him expressed milk, and occasionally formula just to help him pile on the beef.

At the moment, the good lady will actually go to bed a few hours ahead of me, say 2230, and I'll go up around 130. Means she gets some unbroken sleep before feeding through the night. Not sure who's getting the better deal there actually; I'm up at 630 for work X)

Shiiiiiit. I'm currently riding on my redundancy, so I'm enjoying my time with them. I do remember the sleepless nights well though & then having to be up early & trying to work like a zombie all day. Not even copious amounts of coffee works on those days..., you just switch on auto pilot & pray for your bed. Sod's law that those nights end up being teething nights, so you end up doing it all over again :'( Ahh, the joys of parenting. Still, when they're old enough to join in with co-op down the line, it will all make sense lol

Hahahaha - boobie mania
