UKTV has landed the exclusive UK rights for former boxing world champion David Haye’s long-awaited comeback fight. The match will be shown on UKTV’s flagship free-to-air entertainment channel, Dave, live from the O2 on Saturday January 16 at 9pm.

David Haye, the former world champion in two different weight categories, is returning to professional boxing with a heavyweight bout against Australia’s Mark De Mori. Haye’s comeback fight will be his first since defeating Dereck Chisora at Upton Park over three years ago and sees Haye take on a top 10 WBA ranked heavyweight in De Mori, who boasts a record of 30 wins (26 KOs), and only one defeat, since turning pro in 2004. De Mori is undefeated since September 2004 and most recently claimed a first round knock-out of Germany’s Marcel Zeller in October.

In addition to the live match, Dave is also showing a special half-hour preview show Haye v De Mori: The Countdown, the night before, on Friday January 15 at 8pm featuring the build up to the fight, the story of the preparation and the reason why David wants to stage a comeback.

Live Boxing: David Haye v Mark De Mori (TBC) will be shown live from the O2 and has been ordered by UKTV director of commissioning Richard Watsham and Dave general manager Steve North. The two-hour special (9pm – 11pm) will include highlights from the day’s boxing at the O2, live studio discussions plus all the action from the ringside...

Hello Dave.....
Thank you
I went into a boxing club once- seemed to be full of office worker types. Anyway I went a few rounds sparring and the owner came running up to me waving his hands in the air saying,"No,No,No!! Sorry but no professionals are allowed here!". I said I wasn't a professional but just a really, really talented amateur.

Don't need it- I am making a ton of money as a stunt man.

Good luck with all that .....
Excellent for free, however it just goes to show the main sports networks / promoters are not interested in upping purse bids for a Haye comeback fight. Yes he's a decent boxer, but at heavyweight does he really still have a career head with the likes of Joshua and Fury? hmm

I'm voting cold I'm afraid. Even for free watching this sham of a 'sportsman' is not worth anyone's time in my book. I watch a lot of boxing and after the last fight he had with Chisora, I vowed to never waste my time with David again.

He's hand picked this Mark De Mori chap, who is ranked 4th in Australia and is known to be asthmatic.

By all means watch it, it's free after all, but I feel this bloke is massive waste of anyone's time!

Makes you wonder who this "only one defeat" fella has been fighting! Boxings rankings are clearly as reliable as a Zimbabwe election.

Additional: Google searching the news brings up a headline I particularly like - I wonder if the Independent were having a slight dig

A ton of money eh, but you're scouring the Free section of HUKD?
Seems appropriate that this is being shown on a comedy channel.

someone has been watching too many repeats of The Office episode with the IT guy in it lol
of course its an hand-picked easy opponent for his comeback fight, you do know he has not fought for a few years? This should be a straight forward night to blow off the ring rust before he steps back up in class and challenge for a shot at a title

Without a doubt!
I always cringe when one of Hearn's "next big thing!" gets put into a ring with someone from Ghana with an undefeated record.
The heavyweight division has suffered for competitiveness in the last 10 years or so. It's similar with Anthony Joshua, personally, I don't feel he's had a 'decent' opponent to justify all the excitement around him. But hey, if it sells pay-per-view or an arena out then that's all they care for, not the purity of the sport in giving the punters a fair and square fight.
Dave still the best channel for comedy

Thanks. Never would have thought to check Dave for the boxing.:)
Anyone got it, not showing for me on free in or on Virgin.
Oh it's next week
Wow.. comeback fight buried on a comedy channel!
If this was of any value one of the domestic channels would have put it on.... pretty much sums up Haye's value.
If Haye is even 70% as good as before, he's still the best in Britain and top 5 in the world easily. Joshua ain't ready and Fury gets KO'd.
Should be interesting to see the comeback.
heat added - thanks
I'd laugh if the aussie takes him. How's his toe these days?
About bloody time boxing returned to real TV. Before the MurdochKaiser took over the airwaves British, it was all free along with footie, cricket and whatever. The joys of 'choice' pay £240 a year for the crap basic package and still have to pay through the nose in addition for anything worthwhile. I hope Dave (and others) make this a trend, although they are as poor as church mice compared to that old git.
Thanks I may watch this. Boxing is dead tho, MMA is so much better
