Excellent price for what appears to be a fairly well built machine by a reliable manufacturer.

very nice
Please note: These bikes may come with minor cosmetic damage on the frame or components from where they have been in storage. Any damage will only be cosmetic and will not affect the performance of the bicycle. This bike has never been ridden and comes with its full manufacturer's warranty. This bike is supplied boxed and will not have been PDI'd.
Hybrid! I was expecting battery power.
Looks great (voted hot) but I guess its cheap because most women are not 5' 8" or taller.
Do not expect the bike to come built.
Shimano hub gears too - wow! Only 3 speed but that's an expensive component on its own.

The bike comes fully built. I'm sure the worst you'd have to do is straighten the handlebars...
Ordered 19” thank you. Will it come build or not?

Enjoy!

Maybe put the pedals on as well.
I ordered one of these a few months ago for the wife.
Got it while they had the 16" in stocks.
It was the same price back then.
The bike came unassembled in a normal bike transport box.
Had to put the front mudguard, seat, handle bars, front wheel, on. Adjust the front brake so it did not rub on the tyre once I had inflated both tyres.

Now just to repaint it, change the saddle and hand grips.

1. 'These bikes may come with minor cosmetic damage on the frame or components from where they have been in storage.'
- POSSIBLE RUST (see term 2)
2. 'This bike is supplied boxed and will not have been PDI'd'
- UNBUILT, UNCHECKED, NOT GREASED (needs to be built by a professional - £30-60)
Thanks op. Been on the hunt for a cruiser style bike & couldn’t find anything under £140 plus being 5’8 means this is perfect so happy days!!

It's a disclaimer. If you look above it tells you that the bike has been built. I've ordered and returned from/to this company before and I think you'll be ok.

90 days return if you're not happy or can't operate an allen key for the handlebars...

Why don't they just say 'shopsoiled' if that is what they are. but I can't see how they can be rusty just in storage
I've never seen a bike, built or unbuilt which needed to be greased. The only things normally greased are the bearings and these are always supplied greased.
Doesn't make sense to me.
Hub on its own is £75, and the rims are double wall.

Your right, this is how I received the bike I ordered

Part of the rear mech poking out the box and the rear mudguard bent out of position and slight rubbing on one of the crank arms.
Looked like the box had been stood on.

I didn't return it, it was that cheap and it was only minor cosmetic damage, the mudguard was due to the metal support bar been bent so just straightened it out, the wheel was true still so I was not that bothered.
Nothing wrong otherwise.

It was 5 December when I received the bike, so it has been this price for ages now.
If it was not for the strawberries it would be OK.

It paint is really difficult strip off if you intend to change colour as my wife wants.

A bike previously ordered from Rutland, no grease, direct from manufacturer, not PDI’d.
I ordered for the wife, then cancelled, some of the posts have put me off. They don't look like they pack them properly!

Can't really tell what part of the bike is this?

Can't really tell what part of the bike is this?

That looks to me to be one of the saddle rails under the saddle. Bangladesh are fairly low on the pecking order of bicycle assemblers. What normally happens for many bikes destined for Europe, Chinese bikes are assembled in countries like Vietnam, Bangladesh, Cambodia etc to avoid EU duties that are levied on bikes fully assembled direct from China. So some of the issues here are a) its going to be poorly assembled, could be missing grease in bottom bracket, headset, wheel hubs and may not be correctly assembled with regard torquing of nuts and fasteners or other adjustments, b) its got quite a few low end components and c) its old stock so these low end components have had time to rust before they even get to the customer. Doesn't mean it can't be a fantastic bike and great value but you may need to spend more time checking, adjusting and adding grease and may have to touch up a few places with a bit of paint. Nexus 3 speed hub are super reliable, even suitable for world touring etc so should have no problems for a bike like this. Sturmey Archer, Sram and Shimano Nexus 3 speed hubs are all great quality long life hubs its when you go above 3 speeds that the internals get more complicated and reliability reduces significantly unless its a rohloff hub.
