both lukx and wutang81 are right, and I will add that also this is very popular in Germany.

Just come back and had bought some - lucky me my O H does not like it.

Eat raw when you're "blocked". Much better and healthier than Dulcolax.

Really like this on sausages, great alternative to fried onions.

It is a pickle first of all, so it mainly tastes of vinegar out of the jar. It goes savoury when cooked.

Is the Dawtona Sauerkraut without carrot also on offer again?

there's no vinegar in sauerkraut - you can say it's pickled but not the way gherkins are pickled.

it's great straight from the jar.

or just chop some onions, grate one savoury apple, add some chive and pour some oil over it (add salt & peper obviously) - mix it and you have a salad. goes great with a fried fish and mashed potatoes or chips.

have you tried it ?

sauerkraut is a super food in its correct form (not pasteurised) it is a probiotic, which means it helps the whole digestive process and put good things into the tum tum ://youtube.com/wat…vJY it is cabbage (or a great many cut veg) and salt left to ferment. The product listed is pasteurised so not a proper sauerkraut, make ur own and enjoy the health benifits

I have bought a jar. Now I just need to know what best to do with It.

Awesome! I suffer from IBS occasionally.. might try something new in the process

Thanks

Sauerkraut is from Germany and means literally sour cabbage. Fry some onions, then add the Sauerkraut and boil slowly, add some black cumin and grate a potato into it. Nice with meat and potatoes or mash. Guten Appetit!
