Great game... although it's full of french people now for some reason

No prob with this post and heat added - but what are the mods playing at?

I posted the full list of Day 2's sale and got it deleted as they said that the day 1 post had been updated with the updated deals (after i'd posted) so mine was a dupe, then someone posts Day 3 sales and that stays up, and sinse then anyone posting full days sale list have had their posts deleted, yet all one off games are allowed - just an insane policy.

Surely 1 post a day detailing all updates is helpful to everyone.

Anyways, great game, heat added.

The original (and best :-P) DoD is 74p.

Felt let down by DOD: Source as they seemed to abandon it soon after release with little in terms of good updates. Had so much potential to be as popular as Counter Strike. Loved the first one. Heat added as still worth it as this price.

Do you need half life to play this ?

Nope, you don't. CS:Source and DOD:Source are stand-alone games.

£1.49?

Eight Ace, please.

i always forget i have it, and then something like this reminds me.

gotta go play :-D

awesome price for any game just full stop btw, but for one this good (yes, its old, but so's CS:S, and regular price of that is 15 squids or something) is silly. buy it

I loved the original, bought the Source version for £20 yeeeeears ago and only played it a couple of times. Never gone back since. There should've been a demo imho.

this is a great game, im not sure why its not as popular as it should be, love it.

The original is better and is the best, love it and its still playable. I have stupid amount of hours logged playing it

H+R

how many ?

cos i thought i was bad with cs:s, but i've seen some folks screenshots of their 'Time Played' that were double what i thought was excessive..

Nice to know you were given a reason, I had to search the steam deals rather than the individual title that I posted to find out why it was deleted. Still, it's fair enough, first come first serve. Would you want someone else getting credit for something you posted just moments before? And then there's the fact it clutters up the site with duplicates. Drawback is having them all listed in one deal means it's not as easily searchable for single titles so it's likely to be missed by the searcher. Would be nice if they could do something about that as you'll often see multiple dvd's etc. listed in one deal when there's a sale on.

As for day 3, I would imagine it was never added to the original deal, or it was added after someone else posted it.

Is the original stand alone as well. I used to live on that game years ago....

Really this is for nothing never played the new version do people still play it ?

Yeah if you buy DoD 1.3 for 74p you don't need Half Life.

Only 50 minutes left before it goes back to £3.

Yeah the original that you'd buy is stand alone too. I think you can download the original as a mod for free, don't quote me on that though.

Except it just doesn't work. I look at deals as they come in. I don't think to look back at a deal from a week ago to see if it's changed. It would be the equivalent of having a single "Tesco" thread that I was expected to look at to see if beans were on offer at the moment. So I now have to go to Steam every day to see what the daily deals are rather than come to, um, the site that tells me about deals.

I believe you can only get DoD 1.3 for free if you have a retail copy of the original Half Life registered to your Steam account. Then you just download it from Steam like normal: not as a mod.

That's the other drawback.
