Remember this isn't quite £20, the number you call is premium rate. Last …Remember this isn't quite £20, the number you call is premium rate. Last time I went it cost £8. But still a good deal and a thousand times better than the nightmare boat.

You can use their geographical Folkestone number instead - 01303 282061.

I've always done this to book the telephone-only special offers with no problems.

Never used the premium rate number when I have booked these trips , they accept bookings on the local rate number too.
Let them call you back by filling in the form on the Web page...

You can’t really do anything properly in a day trip

Quite often go over to Cite Europe for a shopping trip, especially groceries that we can't get here. Also a day trip to Le Touquet is perfectly doable only takes an hour , nicer in the summer rather than Feb I will grant you , but nice places to eat etc. Then we like Nausicaa sea life centre which takes just over half an hour to get to . Plenty of places to visit in a day trip . We do go out early though so that we get a full day there.

Could you buy tickets for both days and then leave on 14th and come back on 15th? Or would something get flagged up because you didn't use the return ticket on the 14th.

No, you can do so much on this day trip, even more so if you use the Eurotunnel because it's far quicker than the ferry.

From the citie europe eurostar terminal:
You can drive to Boulogne, a lovely little fishing village in 25 minutes and they have the historic Basilic cathedral and crypts and the wall which was used to protect France from the English.

You can also drive to Dunkirk in 30 minutes where you can see where the D Day landings happened. Also many many war graves there to visit if that's interesting to you.

You could potentially drive to Brussels in two hours.

There is a lot you can do in one day there. I've been countless times.

.1 Your booking is only valid for the booked dates and departure times and the vehicle type stated at the time of booking. Failure to complete both the outward and return journeys in respect of a return booking will invalidate your booking and in the event that you complete only one journey in respect of a return booking, you will be liable to pay the difference between the price that you paid for your return booking and the single fare applicable at the time that your journey was made. Eurotunnel Le Shuttle reserves the right to obtain from you payment in full for all sums so arising. Travel must be completed on the date/time reserved.

1.2 Ticket valid for a day trip only. Not valid for travel before 06:00. Return travel must be completed before midnight (local time) the same calendar day. Cannot return within 3 hours.

We did Disneyland Paris as a day trip out from work (Maidstone) a good while back. Early start, and didn't arrive back until very late, bu still had 10AM-6PM at the park. Lots you can do inside 1 day.

No they scan your number plates and bill you for the full cost of the return trip, there’s loads of people been caught out that way if you google it

For 15+ years I've been following the debate about whether or not you can get away with doing this, which has been raging on numerous forums.

When you cut through all the armchair lawyer advice, the simple fact remains that nobody's ever posted a single case of Eurotunnel actually charging them the difference for failing to use the return leg of a day return.

When you imagine how many people per year miss their return leg (not necessarily as part of the "double day trip" trick, but for reasons like illness or breakdown) you would think, by now, that at least one of those people would have posted online about Eurotunnel hammering their credit card with a massive penalty fee (or sending them a threatening demand for money).
Excellent price.

Now I just need a car

Couldn't you just use a prepaid card to do the booking, they then can't bill you for the breech of terms and conditions?
Can u go on bike ?

Watch out for all the illegal germs swarming about
For anyone wanting to bring back tobacco remember prices are much cheaper in Belgium. About 45 minute drive away.
