Do you have to return? I am going on the friday coming back the following sunday. Could I book a £25 return one way and another £25 return the other way? Just its like £75 each way normally.

I did that in 1999 when I drove to Monza for the GP, not sure if you can now though.

You'd be OK going - but on return they may have cancelled your reservation as you didn't use the 2nd outbound ticket. Not sure if ferries do this - but airlines do.

One thing I did notice was that no luggage is allowed for day travellers. Does that mean cars aswell? Do po staff have the authority to search your car? Or is it just customs that can do that?
Wish I could go. Nice find @powerful_Rogue
I literally booked a saver ticket last night 😩😩😩😩😩

You can take as much luggage as you like in your car.
Not such a good deal now that Diesel fuel costs more in France than it does at Asda and the exchange rate is so poor you'll not save more than pennies on booze.
If you stick to french wine, buy in bulk and use a card that doesn’t add currency commission (eg. Halifax Clarity) then you’ll save a decent amount. And it makes for a nice day trip if you’re not too far from Calais and plan carefully - we often do Bruges and Calais shopping in a day from London.
I’ve tried a few dates and it’s coming up as £45. I pick the saver rate, what am I doing wrong?

They use ANPR cameras to check plates in and out, and if you don't make the return leg they will charge the extra up to the rate of the full single fare for the outward leg to your credit card. You may get away with it, but it's a risk.
Topcashback too............

Hope they are ready for GDPR or the fine will be bigger than the profit they made off those cameras

Valid from the 2nd of May, so won't affect anyone for a few weeks yet. Sure they have privacy statements etc. Up and running in anticipation...
