Long enough as it will be raining. Did that day trip dozens of times (long story), in those days if the Vomit comet was running a bit late you could run down the covered walkway to the terminal, upgrade your ticket and be setting off back before the ferry had finished uploading. All for about 9 quid.

Pro-tip you can buy a combined rail and ferry ticket and it's a lot cheaper - £44 return from Cardiff last time I checked.

England
Ireland
Northern ireland
Scotland
Wales

Maybe I'm getting it wrong but personally I hate being called British, I'm English, same as pretty much every scot and Welsh person I've ever spoke to.

My point was its still classed as going abroad if you leave your country to visit another.
What's being European got to do with it?
Um well the only true title that can be bestowed to the countries you state is that they are all European! not great british..So out of curiosity is the isle of Wight abroad?

I've lived in Scotland most of my life (Northern Ireland up to age 5) and I consider myself British...
And technically you can walk to Europe via the channel tunnel

England, Scotland and Wales make up Great Britain,

United Kingdom is England, Scotland, Wales and Norther Ireland.

The British Isles includes the whole of Ireland, North and South.

I'm British, born and bread in England.

It's a weird thing, I looked into Aberdeen to Liverpool a couple of years ago, It came up as £149. I then did Aberdeen to Dublin via Liverpool and it came down to £45....Weird?

Technically if you're in the UK, you don't have to walk anywhere. Your already in Europe!!!

No, that's part of the UK, I believe it's concidered part of Hampshire. (I could be wrong on that) but it's definitely part of England.

But why are you trying to group them into a title? I could have said Jamaica and wouldn't have changed what I'd said.

Is the isle of Wight a separate country?
peter1969uk04/08/2019 11:09

Nope, being Ex-forces I consider myself British above English.

Above it but still English same as I'm British but consider myself English first.

I'm not trying to argue with you about that by the way, I was stating what i consider myself and say fair play that your choice is opposite, doesn't make either of us wrong.
Morewinedear04/08/2019 10:51
