3230050.jpgDays Gone is an open-world action game set in the high-desert of the Pacific Northwest two years after a mysterious global pandemic has decimated the world, killing most but transforming millions into mindless, feral creatures. Survivors live in a world where resources are scarce, violence and murder are common and Freakers roam the wilderness.
3230050.jpgPlayers face this violent, new world as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter, a Drifter who lives in the lawless wilderness outside the civilian encampments. Deacon survives by using skills learned before the world ended, riding for the Mongrels MC, an outlawed motorcycle club, where violence and mayhem were part of the riding the open road.
3230050.jpgAt the center of it all, Days Gone is an exploration of how any of us would react to these harsh conditions, and exploration of loss, love, friendship, revenge and desperation – learning that surviving isn’t living. For Deacon especially, it’s a struggle to ensure that hope never dies.
3230050.jpgDeveloped by Bend Studio, Days Gone is in development exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
  • Expansive Open World Action – Exemplifying truly free-form gameplay, Days Gone offers freedom to explore, strategize and play “your way” in the vast high-desert of the Pacific Northwest. The hazardous environments, filled with carved out ridges, mountains, caves, cliffs mines and river basins, deliver a breathtaking backdrop to an equally diverse style of gameplay.
  • Emergent Gameplay – Featuring fully explorable environments and dynamic AI enemies, players will rely on their own abilities to strategize, craft weapons and tools, explore the world, and engage in combat. With almost every car, building and environment searchable, Days Gone delivers emergent gameplay possibilities, making a player’s approach to combat and discovery a vital part of the experience.
  • Stunning, Dynamic Graphics – Using the power of PlayStation 4 and Unreal Engine 4, Bend Studio has developed a high volume of rendering and gameplay technology to deliver an incredibly realistic open world experience. Realistic weather effects, such as rain, wind, snow and day-night cycles impact the gameplay. The game’s lighting is all real-time and reacts dynamically, the way the human iris does, as players move from one location to the next.

Here we go again.

This is one of the best games to be released in recent memory, and I’ve played a lot of games over the last 40 years. I think some folk have entirely unrealistic expectations, or they haven’t played many games.

Re: the talk of problems, bugs and glitches littered throughout the web, I haven’t seen any. I thought RDR2 ran like an absolute horror show (especially during built up areas) and I don’t recall reading many overly critical reviews about that title as I have done with this game...

None of this directed at you obviously, just not sure what some people are playing as it simply can’t be the same game (I do actually question whether some folk have actually played the game)

I bought this on release via preorder and when I saw the reviews I was gutted, thought about trying to cancel....so glad I never, I can’t stop playing this game, it’s fantastic....best game I’ve played for years, probably since TLOU
This is a huge drop and a good find. Have some heat dude.

(Now waiting for someone to pick on me why I’m adding heat and commenting on another pepper member )
Loving this game! Lots to-do, plenty of side missions, big map, upgrades etc (I won't spoil it for too much for others)

Very rare to see a frame drop, only seen it twice since i've been playing and that was before the update.

Great price, heat

It's really an honor when you comment over gaming deals, it means a lot and something. Thank you
Scorchio considering the price of this evevywhere else!

I bought this on a whim despite the mediocre reviews and can honestly say it's one of the most enjoyable games I've played recently and personally I would recommend it. Sure it's repetitive but realistically all games are to a degree no? I like the fact you can try be as stealthy as you like most of the time which I find great fun, it's very nice looking too and seems alot to do without feeling grindy or completely overwhelming (i'm lookingat you AC: Odyssey). I have yet to encounter any major bugs but I'm only 3/4 hours in up to now
Ordered, cheers OP
Really enjoying this game at the minute and feel it deserved better than the mediocre reviews it received. Great price as well!
UK stock or UAE stock? Usually deals on new Sony games like these are UAE stock which are almost identical to UK stock other than a small yellow dot on the front of the case. Not sure if it'll affect trade-ins if it's UAE since I know GAME requires UK stock.

I'd agree with that, I think Ubisoft can learn some valuable lessons from this title around open world game design, eg. whilst being OW the story/flow is actually relatively linear, I quite like how the story will only open up a certain number of missions/side missions at any one time and the map isn't actually THAT big at all, there's none of this '1000s of collectibles and quests scattered all over an overly huge map' nonsense that you get with AC and Far Cry titles. With those games I honestly don't know where to turn next...

How dare you give heat (and comment) on another pep expert deal? Just what on earth do you think you're doing? This is just something that's frowned upon by the idiots of the community. Now apologise cracking price

There are bugs in the game,

Minor ones like missions not triggering the road not rendering in properly nothing game breaking,

The more you replay a mission the more likely glitches will creep in,

Sometimes you have to shut down the game and start it back up,

It is worth sticking with it the guns and the range of your gas tank get better,

A few things that annoyed me are melee weapons wear out, that baffles me,

Constantly having to hunt for fuel as gas tank only lasts for 2 in game km before it is empty this does get better as the game goes on,

That gets old quick especially if say a mission is 3 km and you have to run the extra 1 km.
Soon be £15 then I might consider it lol

Great game, we've been very lucky this year with Resi 2 remake, world warz and now this.
Great price but here comes unpopular opinion... one of the worst games I’ve played on this generation of consoles. This was the most hyped game I was looking forward to from the moment I saw it at e3. But like I said, personally for me this was a disaster.... but then if we all liked the same crap imagine how boring you would be.. like unflavoured crisps, or literature keyboard wizards that live in the basement, or you watched X factor, or your opinion was the only one that mattered....zzzzz

Fair enough. I should've just said average because it's not bad by any means, it just didn't really pull me in like other games have. A lot of people expected a story as good as other PS exclusives which was not the case. imo the actual gameplay was good it just lacked in the story. People have played it but it's only opinions at the end of the day.

I played rdr2 on the xb1x so I didn't notice any drops, heard it was only bad on the og xb1 - 864p
I have pretty much completed this game now and it is brilliant can't get enough of it hope they do some story DLC, I'm playing it on the PS4 pro had a few framerate drops but apart from that no bugs at all
Good price 👌. Although I sold the game off pretty fast.... good concept, graphics, gameplay physics but just way to repetitive and linear for me.
Sold it to someone on Facebook for £40 after getting the Platinum trophy, a few days ago I got it one day after launch for £37 from Amazon (£15 refund) I complained about the delayed delivery and I instantly was told about getting a partial refund lol. Anyway.. 😁 great game highly recommend.

Does the story (what you saw of it anyway) make the repetition worthwhile?

I'd consider missions not triggering to be a game breaking bug, especially if it's a plot critical mission.
I’ve put around 50 hours in and can say I’ve really enjoyed days gone. It’s not the best Sony exclusive but the scores it got off critics were extremely harsh, I personally would give it a 8/10. Just check out the user reviews on metacritic.

With how well it's sold you'll be waiting till Xmas before it gets near that price. Unreal game quality well worth the price
FYI this is one of the best examples of simply going with your gut instinct and not necessarily believing what you read (eg in game reviews), the game is a huge success for Sony and will continue to be for a while. Whilst admittedly a different landscape, in the first two weeks of release in Japan the game has outsold historical physical sales to date of God of War, Detroit and The Last Guardian

There’s more repetition in 10% of an Assassin’s Creed title than there is in the entire Days Gone game
Price has dropped quicker than I expected, probably best waiting a bit longer for it to get even cheaper in my opinion

Yes and no. Story is fairly in depth and somewhat intriguing (not on an uncharted level though). But generally it’s just the rinse repeat of missions and monotonous driving over the same similar landscape. A lot felt copy and pasted to me.... but it’s still a good game but not worth a full price. I’d prob pick up around the 20/25 mark imo.
I’ve seen bad reviews on this but looked great from the e3 demo

Thanks. While driving is there any tension? Does it feel likr driving through an apocalyptic world, or is it just monotonous in that sense too?

I don’t normally like zombie horde games but from your comment I’m thinking about trying it. Which other game did you enjoy as much? Spiderman, God of War?

Loved both of them in different ways! Horizon too. I quite like a linear story with the optional extras if you choose. I have such a backlog of games I only really have time to be told a story then onto the next, so I don’t really like games stuck behind a grind wall or with a obscene amount of collectibles.

The closest game you can compare this to in type is The Last Of Us due to similar themes and I would call the combat similar too.

Currently CEX still give 35 cash so for a few quid to risk giving it a go I’d recommend it as it did surprise me how much I’ve liked it so far!

Yes absolutely, when you starting approaching a horde the music goes a lot darker/intense and the closer to the horde you get, the louder the music goes, all the while you don't necessarily see the horde on your mini map - this leaves you thinking where the hell are they? All of a sudden you might simply drive round a bend and they are hundreds of them walking towards you up the road - I'm generally not scared by this sort of thing but it does give you that 'oh ****' feeling.
it sounds like far cry 3 onwards; inexplicably loved despite being the same gameplay, over and over again.
