just a quick warning about contacts... a guy was having a barbeque and had contact lenses on. whilst he was doing it then contacts melted inside his eyes and he ended up blind in both eyes. i was thinking of getting them but i have heard a lot of risks with these.

A guy...Was he putting his head 3 inches above the flames? Seriously this sounds like a myth.

Then again, even if it is true how about don't wear them when using a bbq? I mean common.

not really the contact lenses at fault, rather than the silly wearer

I'd like to see a link to an article or something on that mate. What about all the people who wear glasses, get punched in the face, and end up blind from glass in their eyes?

A little note though. You need to ask your optition if you are suitable for contacts..

And the next day he woke up in a bath of ice with a note telling him to ring 999 as his kidneys had been stolen.

A quick warning about computers: Someone, somewhere, has probably been hurt by one once.

been a user for a year now... excellent deal and best price.

I am an optician and his face would begin to burn before the lenes would. So it is complete crap.

As for these daysoft lenses i have used them and they are comfortable and i havent seen cheaper lenses (price not quality). Also delivery and service is top notch.

forgot to mention that whatever lene you are wearing be they focus dailies (most popular in high street opticians) or the generic Specaver/vision express branded ones Daysoft have an equivalnt, of course always have regular check ups at an optician, every year is recommended for most unless you have an eye condition that would require you to have more regular check ups (aftercare appointmens)

My wife uses these, 2 years now after previous recommendation on here. Says they're more comfortable than previous Bausch & Lomb 4 times the price ones.
Great service from them, they even posted some to France for us when we were on our hols & had forgotten them.

Been wearing contacts for over 25 years and 1000's of barbecue's and I can still see!

these guys are great - recommended

Used these before and I can vouch for them!

Where does it say the price is going up by 50p ?

So I wear Focus dailies all day comfort . So these will be just as good ?

That's at least 80 barbecues a year.

I use these all the time, great lenses and service

Hardly a deal though

Please tell me you are joking and don't believe that??

I tried these for a few weeks, I found the focus to be a little worse than my usual lenses. They were also harder to handle, more floppy and prone to stick to my finger not my eye.

Worth trying for a tenner, and a hot deal if they suit you.

i've used these for years and they're great - really good customer service too. i used Focus Dailies before and find the daysoft ones just as good if not better.

thanks for the heads up OP re the price rise, i needed to order some more so will make sure i do it before the 26th.

Going up 50p a month? OMG what am I going to do? How will I be able to afford to wear contacts as well as feed my family?!?!

Not a deal btw as this is normal price and has been for as long as I can remember.

I've got a new glasses prescription but thinking of trying contacts. Can I order some of these with the same prescription? The site asks for the lenses you are currently using though.

Your probably better going to the opticians to see if you are suitable for contact lenses rather than just ordering them.
My glasses prescription is exactly the same as my contact one but don't know if this is the case with everyone. I also use daysoft along side using Specsavers contact lenses which are twice the price

Daysoft dont have an equivalent for all lenses. They group lots of lenses into one of their equivalents - just be aware of that. Apart from that they are good lenses for a cheap price although i do get a lot of wasted ones that tear easy or are faulty. Pays your money!

Were you aurprisd that they poosted them to France? Surely it was just another sale to them and it didnt matter where in the world you were as long as it was on thier mailing list.

That's at least 80 barbecues a year.

So considering the fact that there is only 3 months of summer in this country.. that equates to nearly every day of barbecues oO

where do you live?? restaurant ?

I have used these for a couple of years & highly recommend them, quick service. I never have any problem with tearing them but I do keep my nails ultra short

I smell something and it's not barbeque. Smells more like bullsh*t...

Good deal anyway, I usually pay a lot more

A great price but not any use if you need toric lenses

Tried these. For me not as comfotable as focus dailies so switched back to focus. Even with the low price it was not worth it for the discomfort.

can anybody recommend online place that does cheap toric lenses?

I may still buy some from here because 1 eye is I need toric lenses for the other one I don't, so at moment use daily Activeview?? in one eye and boots own in the other.

could be really checky as hardly ever where them (just when go out on a nighttime) buy 2 boxes take 14 pairs out and just return them (only joking for the price it wouldn't be worth my time!!)

You have to go to an optician/cl optician to get fitted for Contact lenses, as the prescription (Rx) is almost always different due to the vertex distance (the distance from the eye to the lens itself, thus if you are short sighted, your contact lens Rx will be lower than your Spec Rx) also the Contact lenses come in different base curves and diameters (base curve is t do with the curvature of the eye, and if you get the wrong base curve the lenses could be ether too loose or tight, and could lead to damage to the eye) this is not a time when you should save money as it is your eyesight... savemoney on the lenses

Why you so hung up on it not being a deal? Is it cos you didn't post it?
How many of the DVD "deals" on here have been that price for ages too?
A deal doesn't need to be a sale or discounted price surely, a deal is the lowest price around for an item.

You should get a separate contact lens eye test. Specsavers were doing them for free.

Been using this for about 12 months now thanks to HUKD. Saved me loads of money. Only take about a week to be come.

Ive been using these guys for years and have found them to be superb. When ordering you select the type of contacts you are currently using and they match it with their own specific brand. They are really comfortable when in,even after a wearing for a long time and they are usually delivered within 2/3 days every time. Once you have tried them you wont go back!

Note that they're only standard lenses, i.e. they don't cover astigmatism. So if you've astigmatism, save yourself the disappointment. Try LensFinder instead for price comparisons of your particular brand.

Another option well worth looking at are Tesco and Asda opticians.

For example Bausch & Lomb Purevision at Tesco are £7 per pair per month and £8 at Asda. These are the extended wear lenses, so (assuming you optician OK's it) you can put them in, and then leave them in for up to a month.

Both Tesco and Asda do a full range of contact lenses, from the 'real' manufacturers, not the rebranded versions sold by Specsavers and the others.

You don't have to use Tesco or Asda as the optician to buy them, but if you do, Tesco (for example) charge £10 per year for all the aftercare and checkups.
