How can they justify charging £38 for pre-orders when you have to pay £8 a month... shocking

because its an mmorpg?

Even so, as an mmo it should at least lower the release price.

I don't think someone knows how MMOs work.

You pay an outlay for all the work it took to make the game much like you do for any other game.

The subscription fee is there to cover the costs of server maintenance and ongoing patches.

Besides, give it 6 months or so and you'll probably be able to get the client for peanuts or less anyway, like many MMOs these days.

Someone does know how MMOs work, someone also knows how much of a ripoff they are, on top of the £40 they get per person straight off, another £8 a month doesn't exactly add up to labour and maintenance, it adds up to extortion.

Paying monthly for a game? stupid.

I thought it might have been interesting then I found at that Sony will charge monthly which I think is ridiculous. You can try signing up for the beta which I've done to see what it's like. I do think if your buying the game New you should at least get a few months free due to Sony charging full price for it.
