Don't be rude to one another and let people buy what they want. Both have pros and cons. What may work well for one may not for another. Get over your egotistical self and appreciate the needs of others. If you want to attack or bait anyone, go with those who buy SD/DVD content. That's all i've got to say here. Have a lovely week and stay hydrated.

Currently £24.99 for the disc on Amazon, that's over twice the price of this, not just a few quid more. Granted it may go slightly cheaper on release but that's speculative. Preorder ve preorder....nothing can compete.

I used to be a disc guy, but I've gone completely Apple. I use the money i save to buy more films, or whatever else I want...plus I have a lot more free space on my shelf!

Not a great drop really but not too bad for those with Apple TV 4K.

The disc version I think is around £25 so even with any discount codes such as at Zoom still likely to be £10+ for the disc version.

Usually can get marvel films for £20. It's Disney that rip us off? Or I'll get the twin pack with Deadpool and binge watch

Someone said they are part of Disney so that will explain it. It will drop when noone buys.

As I said, good price, but nothing beats disk for quality. That's a fact that you can take or leave.
@FunkiestMonkey

The quality is minimal if not unrecognisable.

watch this.

Disney don't own FOX though which is the studio behind Deadpool., X-men, Fantastic 4 etc.

There is a deal being talk about at the moment but Comcast have put in a bigger offer than Disney which means its going to take even longer now for any deal to go through, which delays any of the above being added to the MCU. Think the plan was to get the deal done asap and have a cameo in Avengers 4 but not going to happen. Besides they still got casting to do as they will reboot X-men and Fantastic 4, Deadpool, might be safe for now but a 3rd film is in the air at the moment.
We were also suppose to get two X-men movies this year but big problems behind the scenes caused them to be delayed and a huge reshoot, personally should cancel them both as no future beyond those movies now since FOX is selling and whoever gets them will reboot. If Disney get FOX, you can expect Fantastic 4 being the first to enter the MCU
I've heard people's films disappearing from their iTunes library (you would have to make sure they are backed up on a computer) when there are distributor changes, so I've never been keen on a digital film collection. Nevertheless, this is way cheaper than a physical copy.

Well said! I personally buy physical of ones I collect then pick up all these great iTunes 4k deals.

I'll also be honest yet to see any difference in screen as both look sublime.

Erh.. Did you just do a mic drop then?
cant play youtube at the moment - can anyone comment on the actual difference between apple 4k and uhd bluray 4k?

Comparing netflix and amazon 4k to uhd bluray, there is some slight differences here and there where the netflix and amazon don't seem to be as detailed to uhd bluray - but really hard to show the difference in reality.

The discs sometimes are up to 50Mb, not sure about Netflix or Amazon if they reduce the bit rate. Not sure what Apple do?

Cons of discs is I have had disc skips on xbox one s - not sure if it's disc or xbox yet.

Difference genuinely is unnoticeable unless you are really looking for it. The apple TV 4k does a great job, not sure how apple does it but they pull it off very well. I find even apple TV apps like Netflix 4k look better than standard TV apps too.
Take a look when you get YouTube working and you will see.
Factor in the (often huge) price difference and I think it would be foolish to argue that any difference is worth the price.

Then we could open a whole can of worms and actually ask people what hardware they have, because...lets be honest...unless you are running the best tv, player, sound system and leads...you are not getting the best experience anyway so the whole arguement becomes pointless. I very much doubt anyone using this site can claim they have the absolute best of everything and if they do...lets talk viewing angles!

I have a dream that one day HDUK will one day be used for voting rather than a bragging site.

It's just a dream though.

That's a crime though. Digital paid content being taken away from you is not because you agreed to their terms. Google itunes films disappearing and there are many complaints on this matter. Thankfully there is a solution and that is to keep downloaded versions of the films on a computer so you can transfer them to other devices in the future. I'm not saying it *will* happen to this film specifically but it could.

The point is through no fault of your own digital films can just be swiped away from you. Maybe you won't even notice years down the line if you have hundreds showing in your library.

I am also a bit cynical/reluctant to pay the apple tax on it yet...

But if they are consistently lower priced than uhd blurays - it might eventually break even.

Apple is still streaming right - no offline download?

So it's either minimal or not recognisable. Can't be both. Plus that is one (unscientific) comparison.
As I said before it is a good deal if you are an apple person.

For others...
What of the sound differences?
And the extras you often get with the disk version?
And postcards sometimes.
And something to physically hold and keep.

Yeah you get the option to download it onto your iphone or ipad.
Currently watching Tomb raider (2018) in 4K via Apple TV for £9.99. It looks stunning!

I could have waited for another week for it to be released on physical media for £24.99...and got the exact same experience a week later for £15 more.

Hmm.
Nice price but my pre order price is £10 if you want my pre orders.

Unless it's in 4k Dolby vison/hdr am going have to buy this movie on Google play movies for the family sharing option
