The Cardhu is always reduced to this price somewhere. I doubt anyone has ever paid £43 for it. As an aside, its a terribly underwhelming dram.
I cant comment on the Dalwhinnie

I feel the need to comment on the Dalwhinnie everytime i see it pop up, it is ****ing awful! At best it can be used for hot toddies!
I second the comment on the Dalwhinnie. I bought it, hated it and only use it for maple syrup old fashioned!
its always that price. they constantly put a fake price on it and 'drop' it to £25 which is not worth it.
WARNING -...This is a Cardhu Gold deal police alert.

The posting of a £25 deal for Cardhu Gold will alert the Cardhu Deal police because.

It's nearly ALWAYS £25 somewhere.

It has a artificially high RRP that makes £25 seem like a huge discount.

It has numerous postings on this site in which comments will tell you it's worth no more than £25 (if you like it)

Please search the word "Cardhu" to see how often this gets posted on Hotdeals at £25.

As I always say when this gets posted: buy the whisky don't buy the discount. If you like this at £25 .. fine.

But if you are a casual buyer i suggest there are better malts out there for this money that don't have a artifical discount on the price label to lure you into a purchase and give you a false impression that you got a deal on it at £25
Im also going to start posting (time permitting) whiskies at a similar price today that are in my opinion better deals and/or better whiskies.

Todays alternatives

Tamdhu 10 £26.40

Aberlour 10 £24

Bushmills 10 £27.40

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I quite enjoy the Winter's Gold edition of Dalwhinnie. It's not a 15YO, but I like the added fire and spice that comes from the younger whisky and the choice of some virgin oak they've used, yet it still has a lovely mouth feel. Often on offer somewhere at around £25, and regularly at Costco for a few pence less.

Wouldn't recommend putting it in the freezer though, unless you want to calm down the slight fire and make it a bit syrupy, you lose all the apple notes in the process, and are just left with the "pencil shavings"!
