Looks good, I guessing you could use a ac/dc adapter instead of the EU plug. Heated.

and the controller is it just a USB? or can you use a ps2 pad plugged in via usb cable

From what I understand any USB controller will work

Pity it only has composite out.

This reminds me my dreamcast all the emulators that I ran on it. Heat added. Thanks

I miss my dreamcast... does this emulate dreamcast too? I have a PS3 so wonder if I can even get that to do the job...

if it suits and you want it ,beware ,deal extreme take about a month to deliver

Are guys sure you are not going to be hit with import duty and postal costs

i saw this a few days ago. this isn't a "deal" it's the normal price. also, there aren't any customer reviews for it yet so it might be absolutely horrible.

That's what I was thinking, shame it doesn't even support S-Video. Surely a modified Xbox 1 would be (besides the extra bulk) more suited for the task?

ugh. you think you're going to have to pay "postal costs" because you don't trust some foreigners to put enough stamps on your packages?

dealextreme are great for all kinds of weird and wonderful things and they're cheap. i've never had a problem with them.

no, it isn't. i'll let you in on a clever little secret though. if you do a search for the product using the search box on the Dealextreme site it'll display what you're looking for.

Anyone that has bought from abroad before. Over 30 quid could end up paying duty 8 quid plus postage handling costs 15 quid last time for me, DX is ok for small items over 30 quid you run this risk, thus your 30 quid could cost you 60.

I've used DealExtreme loads in the past, but in the last few months the postage has become useless.
I'm still waiting for an Android pad I ordered in November.

just get a chipped original xbox

if this were hd and not much more expensive it wud be hot.
but as it is the video playback is pretty pointless in todays age...
still a decent bit of kit

no idea where you're getting this. i spent £70 at DX on xmas presents and they were all delivered in one big box. i've never had to pay additional tax on any of the 10+ times i've used them. what was it you bought, exactly?

Original chipped xbox or a ps3 with custom firmware would be a better solution than this

Save yourself £33.49 if you have a PS3 and Jailbreak it. Then, head to … Save yourself £33.49 if you have a PS3 and Jailbreak it. Then, head to doperoms.com and get all your games in the form of a ROM which of course you legally own Playing Donkey Kong Country SNES is actually VERY good on a PS3

Surely a modded Xbox 1 would be more than sufficient, jailbreak a PS3 and no more PSN, hardly worth doing for game emulation.

You were lucky then. It's commonly known that if you buy something from abroad and it costs over £18 you have to pay tax on it, usually if it's only a few quid over that they let it slide (I forget the exact amount now) I bought some stuff from America (aware that I was likely get taxed) that cost $51, and I ended up paying £12 to Royal Mail to collect it (from what I remember it was £8 for their admin fee, £4 of tax)

It's possible dealextreme lie about the value of the contents inside the box if you've never got taxed. That's quite dangerous for them to do that if that's the case though

maybe you were just unlucky. all my DX stuff has come with some import tax prepaid on it, and customs have never felt the need to hit me with any more...

You need to read up on import duty and Royal Mail's handling fee. You were lucky; most people are not.

As has already been said, anything costing over £18 from outside the EU and you are likely to get hit.

That's a different case if Dealextreme prepay the import tax, (which is what companies like play.com do on things that require import tax) are you sure they do that? That seems unusually good of them...

Considering you can buy a second hand Xbox from CEX or Gamestation for … Considering you can buy a second hand Xbox from CEX or Gamestation for just £15 and can softmod it, is it really worth the hassle to any PS3 user?! I use PSN and wouldn't want to jailbreak my PS3 just for game emulation, when its easily done for little cost elsewhere.

Again, what hassle is there to me as someone who doesn't play on PSN? Why pay £15+ have the added hassle of having yet another machine under my TV? One which also sounds and looks like a tank too! Also, 3.55CFW you can still use online with homebrew. At the moment anyway

Do DE still sell R4i cards?

These seem to have disappeared!

DX's policy is that the purchaser is responsible for any and all fees on arrival and it's not their fault if you incur large fees.

What you can do is order in small batches to prevent fees if customs opens it

------------

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/post/internet.htm

If you buy goods online from outside the EU for delivery to the UK, you'll have to pay Customs Duty and Import VAT on top of the purchase price if the goods are above a certain value - though Customs Duty is waived if the amount of duty payable is £9 or less

For the record it is not always collected, it's down to the delivery person to collect

beware if you are thinking of jail breaking a ps3 it was announced today that they are banning the console and your psn account .

which im very glad of this new a it stop pirates but also it stop people modding call of duty lobbies .

You did have to, you just didn't get caught. This is basically tax evasion (though clearly nowhere near as serious otherwise they wouldn't let so many people get away with it).

dont't bother with modding PS3 & x-box. PC are the best for emulation games. massive HDD, 3Ghz+ processor, at least 256MB graphics card. just add a ps2 adapter for around £2-3 from dealextreme and you're off.

I played them all & they're brilliant. you can even get adapter for megradrive controllers
