Can they be bought individually?
Or $11.66, whatever tickles your scrotum.
£7 each! Really?
Confirmed steam codes BTW, everyone can get their game on, even though it's a MacUpdate promo
First app I bought when I switched to Mavericks. If you have a Mac then you really should buy this.
The name Little Snitch may make you think this is all about blocking illegal software from calling home but that is far from the full picture. This is in my opinion the best software firewall for Mac which is an essential security tool for anybody using the internet. And especially if you travel with your computer and use cafe/hotels etc.
Thanks original poster, bargain! I've been looking for an offer on this for a while. You can try this software for free but in demo mode you have to switch it on every 3 hours. I've just purchased as it's a great piece of software to protect your Mac. If you take your laptop out of the house then yes this is for everyone.
Sounds like the average user to me, then.
No, only if you plan on using illegal software that calls home oO
thanks for posting - nothing for me here, Civ but I'm told steam PC version is crossplay??? and better
I was expecting it to go cold tbh, as i know Apple haters will hate regardless if its a good deal. But as long as the post helps at least one person get something cheaper, frankly couldn't care how cold it gets
in that case i put my hands up and im wrong... All i saw was mac update and stopped reading and smiled... i take back my comments
No I know what your comment was intended at, But I wanted you to publicly make yourself look like an idiot! I started off mad at you, now I actually feel sorry for you, MacUpdate is the name of the website, Just like Humble Bundle. Nobody is paying for any update. Thank you though for making me realise why people get confused and scared when they see the word Mac.
Sorry, might little one unplugged my machine as I was posting the deal - so there was a deal but no info.
well if that's your point of view you are wrong as parallels let's you run windows on a mac so you don't need to rely on apples software
Lol desktop apps isn't apples strong point.... Cold, even if free. Useless junk
am i right in thinking this is the cheapest possible way to get parallels 8? as the rest of the stuff is of no interest, looks like crap really, but the fonts look interesting. it's about £34 in real money
Very odd lol
From their site: Students, teachers and parents/guardians of students are entitled to purchase. So that covers most households! Also there are no checks made for those who wish to ignore the requirements!
Switched to my iMac desktop & laptop last year there is no way I would want anything to do with windows on it.
I decided just to use bootcamp and for work apps that are IE based I use crossover. But not a bad deal if you use parrallels.
Not a chance
Or realize you've over paid for a computer and buy a PC
It can be done if you mean you are dual booting Windows and OSX on a hackintosh . This link is pretty old, so the steps required might have changed since then. Just search around that site or your favourite hackintosh forum for up to date instructions.
yeah agreed @Softpurple they bumped it up to 15000 so plenty of time..... still good deal
You should also check out Fantastical or QuickCal. Both very good apps, especially if you use them in conjunction with Alfred... http://support.alfredapp.com/kb:fantastical http://support.alfredapp.com/kb:quickcal
Parallels and Fusion can use your Bootcamp partition as well. You might have issues with Windows activation depending how it has been installed, but this can be worked around. How about if the partition is a Hackintosh windows OS?
lol you must be knew to MU Promo :) They will continue to bump it up until around 25,000-30,000 bundles sold each time a target is hit. It's just a lame sales tactic to encourage spontaneous purchases. Something they have been doing for years.
Looks like they removed vmware fusion. :-(
Parallels is better for games and anything needing GPU acceleration but VMWare is better for updates as they don't force you to pay for each major revision
Im tempted for VMWare Fusion. How does it compare with Pararells?
Duplicate post: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/macupdate-spring-2012-bundle-save-87-1168440
Worth it just for Fusion
Nice was going to buy Forklift for $30, but might aswell get this.
You won't notice any difference between VMWare 4 and Parallels. The main difference now is Parallels has an aggressive yearly update policy that is mid cycle while VMWare is normally good for a couple of years with plenty of updates and cheaper upgrade path. Drive Genius is very good, Boom is handy and I have alternatives to the others. But if you need VMWare or Drive Genius then it's worth buying.
Very good bundle for the bucks
Phone to Mac is an incredible app I use it all the time, allows you to browse the contents of your iPhone backups i.e SMS, Address Book etc and also pull your media from your/your friends iPhone to your iTunes library
And for those that don't want to use the original posters referral link : http://www.mupromo.com/
thanks mate they are
Phil is rite, MW2 and 3 r da best
mw2 and mw3 are the best cod games
Single player wise I'd agree. CoD2 had the best multiplayer though as it was skill based. Everything after CoD3 multiplayer wise is based on who can camp the longest and get the most CPU controlled killstreak kills.
The game can be activated in others contry ? And is it muli language ?
Pretty much every other active mac bundle out there right now is better than this imo. bundlehunt productivemacs maclegion etc
Meh looking pack :|
Of course. However, I think there are better open source or free alternatives to many of them e.g. handbrake for the dvd ripping one. Although postbox and totalfinder are the true stars of this bundle. If i didnt already have the two i would have bought this.
Depends on whether the apps are useful for you or not.
worth it for totalfinder and postbox. the rest look like a load of tat.
Like I said it is not illegal to make a back up copy of a dvd you own as stated in your attachment.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2009/aug/12/real-realdvd I did not know Handbrake could decrypt copy protected DVDs, as this has always been illegal in the UK and not completely legal in the US.
Also it is not illegal to make a back up of a copy you own.
I have handbrake but thought it was just to have a playing video of your dvd on your mac, file size is only 1gb - 2.5gb, can handrbrake make a full copy of the dvd.
I've used handbrake for commercial dvds. worked a charm
Ahh I love this series! Need a PC version!
hot hot hot!
damn it wish this was for PC sooooo badly - voted hot anyway!
May want to actually research that one, Macs are more expensive but I really doubt you can get a quad core i7 for a third of the price of a MacBook Pro.
I don't have a Mac, but I'm not jealous. Hot deal and good on you Apple fans!
Purchased this bundle but noticed that MacUpdate Desktop is a subscription service and you get 6 months free with the bundle with your profile set to AUTORENEW at $20 per year after that. So if you don't want your credit card being charged in 6 months time, you can set your profile so that it doesn't automatically renew. 1. Login into www.macupdate.com with your email and password 2. In your profile page, click on 'Purchases' 3. On the right hand side is the option to switch off Member subscription auto-renewal 4. Confirm the changes by clicking on 'Preferences' and then the 'Subscribe' tab 5. Ensure that there is no tick in Auto-renew annual Membership w/MacUpdate Desktop (update billing) Took a couple of screenshots for the above but not sure how to upload them.
charged twice for this... not happy
Yes, you can. Here's what I did:- Installed Parallels Ran it, clicked Open, there was a My Boot Camp icon already there Clicked it, logged in when prompted After waiting ages for Parallels Tools to install (stalling at step 4 of installing Parallels Tools), clicked the top-right padlock to get into the VM, got that damned MSN Messenger out of the way along with a couple of other updates that had decided to rear their heads Got frustrated when the VM hung on the way down, and even more frustrated when it wouldn't come back up Ended up rebooting the Mac with a 4-second press of the power button. All now working fine now though! :-) Windows will need re-activating, but it'll probably do that automatically anyway unless you force it to.
Heat. Great for new users. I'd like a few of the apps but can't really justify the price. Anyone interested in splitting a bundle? I want Divvy, Hands Off!, App Tamer, Civilization IV and A Better Finder Rename and will go 50/50 with someone who is only interested in the "bigger" apps. Hopefully not breaking any rules with this offer. MacUpdate allow you to registered each app with whatever name you want, so a plit would still have the apps registered in your name
I'd have to agree with zaft here, that 1password and Flux are worth getting this bundle for. However you can't get all those apps for anywhere else cheaper so why the cold votes?
1password and Flux are the standout apps that I can see.
Dont recognise any of these, is there any 'Killer App' worth buying it for?
Head's up regarding the OS compatibility support required by the bundled apps (copied off of the deal website). 1. What version of Mac OS X do I need to use the bundle apps? Some applications are compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger", while others require Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard". The minimum requirements for the latest versions of each app are: Mac OS X 10.4 (Intel/PowerPC): Live Interior 3D Standard, Get Backup Pro Mac OS X 10.5 (Intel/PowerPC): Toast 10 Titanium, Espionage, ShareTool, Cashculator, Concentrate, MindNode Pro, Voila Mac OS X 10.5 (Intel-only): My Living Desktop 2. Do all the applications work with Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard"? Yes, all of the bundled applications are fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.
Amazingly good deal for Mac users, been meaning to buy an updated version of Toast for ages then this deal comes along and I get it at a much cheaper price than I can find it anywhere else plus I get a couple of useful apps that I'd be tempted to buy anyway thrown in at no extra cost! For anyone concerned if this offer and MacUpdate are both legit, MacUpdate has been around for many years, I personally have bought many a discounted app including the last couple of bundle offers without any issues. It's also worth keeping a regular check on their daily offer page (once the bundle offer ends) as they feature a different app each day usually discounted by between 25% and 60%, again I've purchased plenty of great apps at greatly reduced prices via their daily deals.
Bargain if you want Toast - but last years Parallels offer was much better.
Used to include Parallels, reason I got it.
It's all above board, the macupdate site has been going for years. This is just part of a regular bundle they do every now and again.
