One of the best animes of 2013 imo is 'Attack on titans' (shingeki no kyojin) masterpiece! Death note is one of my top animes aswell

Got this for like £10-£15 years ago, not sure how almost double that now is a good deal?

I got it for a similar price about 2 years ago but I've been looking for another copy past few months for a gift and I haven't seen it below £25! Have no idea why. Maybe its a supply issue or something?

Cowboy Bebop definitely at no. 1 for me, closely followed by Avatar the last airbender at no. 2. Hard choosing between Afro Samurai and Samurai Champloo for third spot though.

This isn't the best price though, zavvi have it slightly cheaper.

If you guys liked Death Note, you'll enjoy Code Geass, I actually think it's better than Death Note.

Code Geass is a mess.

Darker than black (first series only) was very good. Series 2 and 3 were donkey balls.

Code Geass is good, but not better than Death Note.

Attack on Titan is ridiculously good, but not comparable to Death Note because its more action-orientated rather than 'tactical.'

Death Note is OK, but far from amazing. Frankly, just go out, buy and watch Baccano. You'll have a brilliant time with that. It eclipses Death Note in pretty much every way, and it's cheaper than this.

And also, I'd say Code Geass is much better than Death Note. Death Note was an absolute mess in the second half. It was absolutely ridiculous, and I found it really hard to care at all.

Well if you're going with the strict Japanese cartoons = anime then sure, but avatar is such massive homage to everything about traditional anime, it's hard to not put in the same category

Danganronpa is good.

If you have time to waste on a not so great anime, I recommend School Days purely because it's about a super horny school kid that goes round boning every girl and meets a sinister end.

High School of the Dead was great, both funny with action.

Amazing anime. It actually did the manga justice. A must watch and well worth owning

What a great series, well worth the cash!

Easily the best anime in my opinion. I have watched all of the anime's mentioned above, apart from Bacano. Bacano is on my watch list now. If you watched Naruto from the beginning growing up with it, then I think people will say that is one of the best anime's (minus the fillers).

With Death Note it would have been better if they left the ending at episode 25, but the following 25 or so episodes were not bad at all. Yet to find something as good in the short series department, hopefully Bacano is good.

Baccano is good but I found it hard to follow. It just jumps around too much. It's like someone chopped a film into 20 different sections and then watched them in random order.

Death Note is great, shame about the last third of it. I think Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is my favourite though.

Still watching Naruto, it has its moments. Bleach was also great, but the fillers were turds.

Very good deal, and it's worth noting that this was never available in Blu-ray. I actually found the ending enjoyable (ending being the last episode), but the last third of the series lacklustre in general. That's the point where things start going downhill. The first two thirds were fantastic.

Disagree. I've watched a lot of anime and found the first couple of episodes plain boring then gave up. Trust me, I usually have a good attention span. Also, my second favourite anime (Monster) has a deep and serious story, yet another of my favourites is a comedy (Maison Ikkoku) so I like many different kinds of anime.

the DN anime is great, but after the big moment (you'll know if you have read/seen it), they really rush through the story for the last few episodes.

Just watched the first episode last night. Was a bit confusing though, but I'm sure everything will intertwine with each other. Also as I'm watching this with the English Dub, I don't have to give it as much attention as I would when watching something with subs. It seems like a different sort of anime compared to Death Note so far, lets see what happens.

Yeah it's totally different to Death Note, they're not really comparable. It does all tie up in the end, but its just a bit of an effort to get through it. I really didn't know what the hell was going on half the time. The jumping around almost seems to be purely for the sake of it. I think it would've been better with a more traditional story progression.
Claymore is worth a watch, tho the ending is pretty disappointing with that one as well.

My friends, you don't seem to understand the point of Baccano. It literally means 'commotion' in Italian, and that's the whole point of the series. It points out that all life is is people meeting, influencing each other, then moving on. And that's just what happens. There is technically no main character, because they are all main characters. Everyone is given their screentime, because they all play a big role in the overall story. All of the characters are fleshed out, and they are all brilliantly visualised.

Also, the fun is in the journey. Understanding and unraveling the plot points as you go along is part of the fun, and watching it back again for the second or third time, you get to understand everything you missed at first. It really is brilliant.

I loved Baccano!

I know, right? It's brilliant. Watching it back the second or third time is even better. Have you watched the extra three episodes they put in as an OVA?

Oh, and by the way, watch One Piece. I highly recommend it to absolutely everyone. And please don't try and compare it to Naruto or Bleach, that's just insulting. It's in a league of its own.
