It's been at this price before, I know, but it's back down to £17.95 for anyone who didn't get it last time
(Which includes me ^^)
I've never seen the anime, but watching the live-action movies definitely makes me want to see this series, 'cause I've heard nothing but good things about it.
Undoubtedly, I'll make my way backwards, having watched the live-action films first, then I'll watch this anime, and then go back to the original manga.
Anyway.

Don't forget Quidco, etc.

"The complete series of 37 episodes of the supernatural thriller based on the manga by writer Tsugumi Ohba. Bored student Light Yagami's life is turned upside down when he finds himself holding the power of life and death in his hands in the form of the Death Note, a notebook dropped into the human realm by Ryuk, a rogue Shinigami god of death. With any human dying when his name is entered into the book, Light decides to rid the world of evil by killing off criminals in a one-man vigilante action. Soon, however, Light's actions come to the attention of the police and a mysterious investigator named 'L', who promises to track down Light and bring him to justice.. Episodes comprise: 'Rebirth', 'Confrontation', 'Dealings', 'Pursuit', 'Tactics', 'Unraveling', 'Overcast', 'Glare', 'Encounter', 'Doubt', 'Assault', 'Love', 'Death Note Special', 'Confession', 'Friend', 'Wager', 'Decision', 'Execution', 'Ally', 'Matsuda', 'Makeshift', 'Performance', 'Guidance', 'Frenzy', 'Revival', 'Silence', 'Renewal', 'Abduction', 'Impatience', 'Father', 'Justice', 'Transfer', 'Selection', 'Scorn', 'Vigilance', 'Malice', '1.28' and 'New World'.

One of my favourite animes. I'd side with Light over L anyday.

How likely is it that this will be released on blu-ray? I really liked the series, but I already watched it before so I don't really have a great urge to get it as soon as possible.

Original Poster

I could be very, very wrong, but I don't think it will be released on Blu-Ray. At least not for a while.
If they were to make the American live-action film, then maybe it'd get a release on Blu-Ray then?
If you're not in dire need to get it, then it might be best to wait and see
And if it doesn't get a Blu-Ray release anytime soon, then maybe it'll get a bigger price drop when you do pick it up

Light is such a ****, I couldn't even get half way through the series because I wanted HIM to die.

I also watched it backwards. Live action movie then anime. I do however like the extra twists in the movie.

I watched all but the last 3 episodes of this 2 years ago. It was so good I couldn't bring myself to watch the end. I might have to invest in this and finally finish it...

Ordered, thanks.

Already own and amazing.

Another decent series, there's aloooooooooot of filler episodes in this though.

I heard Meath note is even better.

I was going to buy this for my daughter who has all the books, for about this price last Christmas but it almost doubled in price a couple of weeks before Christmas so buying it for her now as an Easter present instead

It definately won't be released on Blu-Ray. It was released in 2006, and Manga UK don't do upscales. They're pointless since, well it's an upscale, Blu-Ray players upscale DVDs anyway.

Always thought this was massively overrated and not a patch on the likes of Monster but good price still

Has Monster been fully released on DVD? I didn't think it had

Superb series, one the best Animes I've watched.

Excellent series, excellent price.
