This game is something really special. I have never played anything like it and in fact I believe this game is a piece of art. It cleverly reflects our modern society and kojima has intertwined so much into the narrative that I’m still discovering new hidden meanings after finishing it.

Is it for everyone? No. But if you are tired of the same gameplay loops and are after a new experience I cannot recommend it enough.

Just finished it today after 70 hours, game of 2019 for me.

That’s what you hear from someone who’ve actually sat down and finished it. Hands down to Kojima and what he did there but it was the game of decade for me. Glad you’ve enjoyed it.

If I was a Kojima character I'd be called Bargain Huntman.

Heard the game is essentially just a walking simulation - can I lose weight playing this?

No but you can lose your mind to its charisma.

And there in lies the problem, because to explain it fully I’d have to spoil the story!

Haha fair enough.. I’m considering it because I’d say I have an open mind to these kinda games. Just got put off by the reviews when it first came out

Are the walking mechanics the same throughout?
I'm almost 50 hours in and only on chapter 3 (slow I know) but really gotten in to it. Took me 20 hours or so though. It's a grower and worth the time playing

At the start it is a bit intrusive, but as you level up and upgrade your equipment it’s just a matter of holding down the two shoulder pads and you nearly forget about it completely

I'm a couple (maybe 3) hours into it, and coming from a similar sceptical background. Afraid it was a walking sim, but too pretty to not try it.

It's a strange one. The plot is currently utterly baffling, and I've come across several cutscenes I've wanted to skip because they are riddled with waffley, abstract dialogue that just isn't how people normally speak.

But I'm genuinely surprised at how wandering the world is as engaging as it is. Everything is impeccably designed, from the characters to the landscape to the ghosty things. Navigating the world is as much a core mechanic to this, as kicking is in street fighter. I might not understand it (yet), but I'm OK with that for now.

Do you fancy playing something unique? Because this is unique af.

I promise the story will make perfect sense once you hit episode 9 Higgs. Everything will be gradually explained up to that point and then the plot will be revealed. It will even explain why there are dead whales on the shore. But avoid any spoiler at any cost until you’re finished.
