Does Debenhams ever not have some sort of sale or promotion on?

Thanks for the heads up

You mean 50% this time instead of upto* 50%? And is this on all the items? Or selected line?

It's up to half price

All the stuff has been marked as "sale" since sunday im my local store, same old tat they have been trying to shift on different sales for a long time

Tat at debenhams... do you only shop at harrods then?

OP what is the actual deal/s that you have seen/ wanted to post? I can only see a reference to the sale in your post and when I took a look at menswear I only saw what I would say are the usual items at prices they are often reduced to.

The stuff I seen was all Burton's clobber... It's the same price on Burton but you can get free delivery over £30, 10% discount with random NUS code, and 8% TCB vs the 3% TCB at Debenhams... Saved me over £10... so think on

10% off cosmetics, just in time for my friend's Birthday, thank you

Some good deals, thanks OP

LOVE Debenhams sale. I'll be there

Good God, you're right! It's not even worth the £1200 they want for it now - just veneer. Typical, though, of the fake pricing that Debenhams use to con customers into thinking they're getting a bargain.

'up to' is the biggest con in 'sales'

..but the masses buy it each time

The Advertising Authority/Body should really come up with a min 80% merchandise to be at 50% off for the retailers to advertise a 50% sale. They usually have 10% items marked off at 50%, rest all would be 10-15%.

I had an email saying get ready for a 6am start from Debenhams and this link debenhams.com/sal…875

the problem is the consumer - if they just marked the price as is, no one would buy it because they are 'waiting for the sale' - so now they have to have a perpetual sale to get people interested. the fake prices are called 'anchoring' - it's a psychological trick - amazon does it, most people do it now. mark the former price crossed through then the new lower price - you're more interested because you think you're getting a better deal.

Debenhams stuff is quite often tat. You don't have to "only shop at harrods" to appreciate that. The mens' clothes look awful, the home stuff is sometimes okay but in general the stuff they have is pretty rubbish. I'm sure it does a job for some but there are plenty of other nicer shops out there that aren't Harrods.

Absolutely agree. Cheap stuff made to a low price, marked up to a high price, then marked down again to an average price. Rarely good value - just the pretence of good value.

Well I'm not a great lover of Debenhams but they do stock some quality items I.e Osprey leather bags, which were discounted in the sale along with Hudson mens shoes..... Always worth a check

Anything good, ladies?

Have you checked out the men's section for your hubbies?

If not, please crack on & let me know.

Normally I'd agree but Debehams have discount filters on their search. For instance on Men's Sale you can view just "50% and over" discounted items.

Meaningless, though - when they've manipulated the original prices.

Ah thought you were getting at my hate of the 'upto' sales aka Somewhere in this lot we have hidden somethings or thing (or maybe even nothing) at 50% discount. To find the big discount you have to spend your time forced to go through eeevveerything else (harr harrr gotcha) looking for the big discount, by which time we hope you have seen other things you'd like to buy, at a lesser discount (and maybe even more money too!).

Anyways always search for the item price elsewhere before pulling the trigger regardless of % discount. The % discount is just a rough guide to potential savings.

Ahhhhh now THIS is the look...

Hardly anything exciting enough there to merit a look in and it's amongst such dross. Having said that, I make sure never to leave the house without my sharpest Maine, Rocha John Rocha, Red Herring or Mantaray on just to feel extra 'swag'...
