Awesome. Can't wait to collect my 4m kayak from customer services at my local Asda 7-11.
Oh joy - my local Decathlon and Asda are with 20 meters of each other
Do rate the Decathlon stuff and annoying that my nearest one is so far away. Now what don't i need to buy
Thanks for posting. I've got to recommend these amazing little backpacks for £2.49, bought from a HUKD tip. We pack them in our cabin bags when travelling to use as day bags for when we get to our destination. They are much better quality than the price would suggest, we've had them several years now. They take up no room and weigh almost nothing.

Same here,
Was just browsing to buy few stuff for my son as he started football training and all stuff at the football centre were from Decathlon. And then a message poped up "free Asda pick up".
It was also quick arrived the following day.
Good find. Thanks
I can't see this option on their website?

PICK-UP POINT

We've partnered with ASDA to provide additional, next day pick-up points for your orders too.
There are just two requirements if you choose this delivery option:

  • You'll need to order online before 1pm the day before
  • Your order must be 25kg or less

Just select the nearest ASDA location available to you, and we've give you free delivery for any orders over £30.
For orders that are less than £30, we'll add a small charge of £1.49.

Yes it doesn't say that there. But when make an order it changes the charge to £0.00
this has always been the case?
Everyone always raves about Decathlon but I find the quality very variable. Some of it is excellent for the price, some terrible.

E.g. I got some great pannier bags from there but the £250 bike was a nightmare. Had entire frame, entire forks, entire brakes, pedals, bottom bracket three times, complete front cog, rear sprocket and rear wheel replaced under warranty. Frame, forks and brakes were because they stripped the threads out of the frame trying to fix the bottom bracket.

Fair enough it was done for free but each time took a week and the hassle of taking it back and forth. Maybe it was just bad luck but won't buy another.

not for me it has not.

when they 1st started the click & collect from asda, yes, it was free, used it a few times, then sometime later they started charging for it ( my last order was charged something like £1.49 for click & collect at asda, or more for home delivery ( £3 or 4.99 i think ) or i could drive & collect from a decathlon store free but it would have cost more than £1.49 in fuel so ASDA it was as its a 2 minute walk from work for me.

now to find some stuff & order & have delivered to ASDA ( i can do a £20 min free delivery easily normally, but dont often get to the £50 threshold they have inplace now )
Oh joy - my local Decathlon and Asda are with 20 meters of each other
Asda lost my £125 return. Make sure you keep all your paperwork if using for returns.

sounds more like a tiny bit of bad luck with a consumable part & a whole heap of trouble with the apes in your local store does that - same kinda crap you get from various haldfords stores, some have good staff, others not so good staff.
Brilliant, thanks so much for sharing, was planning on ordering a couple of items tonight

As far as I could work out they only had one proper technician with the rest all doing tyre changes and the like. And he was totally run off his feet. It also meant they didn't order the right parts I think because he was so behind so I got a mismash of replacement parts, some of it better spec but some Shimano stuff replaced with cheap alternatives too.

I think it was the fault of the store not employing/training another person, but then you never know.
Thank you for posting @Nizar we have added this to the days Highlights pag

I like their stuff but the quality and sizing can be really sporadic.

The black cycle shorts are a size 12 from decathlon. The white shorts underneath are a size 12 from Joules. The shorts over the top are age 3 from Next.....

And the customer service was crappy when I tried to return them.
Oh, great.

For the most part any £250 bike isn't going to be anything special and chances are if you had went to Halfuds the experience would most likely have been worse.

The problems you experienced sounds like an idiot of a mechanic/s, which funnily enough can be the same at Halfuds.

I don't know, I had cheap Carrera bikes before, work at a hospital so constant chance it will be stolen. Hospital security about as useful as a hole in the head. Never had Issues before though I appreciate anecdotes arent the same as data.

Got a touring bike now, hopefully will withstand some heavy use. Would get another Carrera but frame sizes are very small.

That's not a fair comparison when the other shorts are made from completely different fabrics, designed for completely different purposes. Cycle shorts are meant to be tight fitting and are made from lycra so have lots of stretch in them, the other 2 pairs do not - even the tag shows you how they should fit. If they were all cycle shorts then you may have a point, but they're not. As for their customer service, they were probably just baffled that you don't understand how lycra works or how cycle shorts fit.

I was waiting for someone to finally provide the commonsense answer!

Then again, given many Millennials need to ask Alexa for instructions on how to make toast, it comes as no great surprise really

I tried one in store once. It was very warm and comfy. Sadly, the staff wouldn't let me keep it when they made me leave the following morning.

But tyen you were pushed to buy more than what you really need just to get to the £30
Is there any good trainers?
bad timing, i have to go to collect my order now. This offer would save me the long trip.

thanks for this! Unfortunately the cycle shorts were sewn to the sizes shown. The waistband would physically not stretch.

I love how kind and friendly people are on here.

The shorts were sewn to this size and didn’t stretch. They also were not made out of Lycra.
I wonder if Alexa teaches people to be nice on the internet too?
Nice
