I know that it seems very expensive but for people who are after spending £2000 on a road bike,, this is what I would be buying..This is a VERY good spec..so please dont vote cold JUST because of the high price please bear in mind what you are actually getting here....

The groupset and wheels would cost nearly £2000 on there own!!!

999

The Facet 3 with the 105 groupset for £599 is a bargain as well, and closer to the reach of a lot of people.

Yeah that's also a very good price!! Apparantly this model is made in the same factory as another well know italian brand

Wow, a full carbon frame with 105, that IS a bargain.

Would be interested to know how that one would compare to the Specialized Allez 2011 @ £499 ?? seen here

About 4800 (1) but it increases the more you use it.

(1) Average vital capacity of male human lungs is 4.8 litres according to Wikipedia.

Decathlon bikes are excellent value - for non brand-snobs only!

From the review / spec that are available, they're no in the same league.

Specialized has an alu frame with 2300 groupset

Decathlon has a carbon frame with a 105 groupset 3 levels above 2300.

From wikipedia:-

Road groupsets

For 2011, road bicycle groupsets include:

Dura-Ace Di2 [7970] (10 speed electronic)
Dura-Ace [7900] (10 speed)
Dura-Ace Track [7700] (NJS-approved, which is a requirement of all bicycle components used in professional Keirin racing in Japan)
Ultegra Di2 [6770] (10 speed electronic)
Ultegra [6700] (10 speed)
105 [5700] (10 speed)
Tiagra [4600] (10 speed) 9 speed on older models
Sora [3400] (9 speed)
2300 [2300] (8 speed)

Thanks for that, on closer inspection it looks like the Triban 3 is comparable to the Specialized.

Both with Alu frame and 2300 groupset, the Btwin Triban 3 coming in considerably less @ £299 though....seen here
