Considering it's "students buying stuff" season again and there's more deals for overpriced, god-awful headphones than you can shake a stick at. Here's an actual pair of decent headphones.

These are VASTLY superior to the £50 beats deals the sheep are going crazy over. Spend less, get something decent.

I'll tone down the rhetoric a bit (as that seemed to be the cause of the last one getting expired), this is still a deal.

Normal price, £37.99 from amazon direct
Eh, plenty of folks talk sense on the beats deals, they still go crazy It's a good price for a good pair of headphones. As opposed to a slightly less unreasonable price for an awful pair of headphones.
Thanks. I was looking for some for my son's Christmas stocking as he loves sitting listening to music with his old headphones. I thought about Beats as I had no idea what they were like and they seemed trendy for a teenager but I'm now buying these instead. Also finding stuff to pad out Christmas for a 13 year old is a nightmare hence not giving them to him straight away.
Excellent pair of headphones, however would prefer to buy from currys for a few quid more, as there are a lot of fakes on Amazon

Have a look on the right, 37.99 from Amazon themselves.
why you slagging off other people's deals and those people who decide to buy them ?

If your deal is so good then you don't need to put down others for your deal to shine

Because beats are dire. I resent folks herding people into buying something crap because they're "cool" and the folks they're herding don't know better.

Why do you object to someone pointing out valid flaws in other peoples buying decisions and offering an alternative?

I'll happily upvote/like/hot a better deal on good headphones. It's not about "winning at posting deals".

overhyped, okay for low end pair of headphones

Got a pair for work about 6 months ago, got kudos from some of the guys who are fanatical about decent headphones. As cans go they are comfortable, the sound quality is fabulous, bass isn't as strong as the B&O I tried, but they were less than a third of the price. I'd recommend them without hesitation.

Not overhyped at all, great pair of headphones for the money and still far better than anything with a Beats logo on it!
Can only add to the above comments, I own these and they are fantastic headphones. Worth £40 of anyone's money.
Aren't these quite old now? Fancy a pair but aren't the Y40's a lot newer?

Sennheiser HD 429 will blow these out of the water.

Frequency response is far superior on the AKG's.
I own these and Beats and I'm sorry to tell you the beats are far superior for sound quality. I can't tell whether people like you are just argumentative or sheep themselves, following everyone else saying "Beats suck" ? There is room in the world for both. Stop getting your knickers in a twist about what other people buy.
Shame the 452's are still £80ish for Android users tho.

Beats are fine if you like their particular 'coloured' sound. Superior is subjective though, with a neutral pair of headphones you can EQ 'colour' the sound to preference, or leave as intended. These AKG's are slightly warm of neutral.

Yeah and people swear Bose create the best sound too...

Simple fact is if you want an accurate reproduction of the recording then both Beats and Bose are absolutely hopeless!
I am a musician and a DJ and have been for over 20 years, I know a little bit about what sounds good. Wind your necks in a bit, of course there is better however I wouldn't want to walk down the street with them on my head. Beats (solo hd 2) are better in my opinion than these AKG'S for that purpose, also these AKG'S are agony on my ears after half an hour.

So are you trying to say to you it is about comfort and making a statement?
Are the controls supported with Android Devices?

Phahahahahaahaasssaaaaaa. No wonder nobody has heard of you then...

10 years working in nightclubs taught me all I need to know about 'DJ's', stick to spinning the tunes and leave the sound engineer to do his job....

Nope you need 452's sadly still pretty much full price.
How about Sony Mrd v55 ... Had them for years and still going strong

I've owned Beats, a few pair of sennys and these headphones and I can honestly say Beats were the worst experiance I had with all of the headphones, I'd Say they make a good fashion accessory - But that's about it, I was dissapointed with the quality of sound in comparison to the price I paid, However each to their own
37.99 at Currys.
Cold because of all the arguing.
I have a set next to me here. Love 'em. Great sound for the money and talking on handsfree with the Mic on phone / Skype or whatever is very useful to me.
I wear glasses, so the on ear fit is better for me.

The Idea of the site is to provide people with a financial saving.
If someone posted a deal for 10kg of caviar for £10, would you tell everyone to go to the chippy and spend a fiver because you prefer cod?

Cold for the arrogant comments.
These are £31.61 for me through bespoke offers, worth a shot I'd say!

Also, remember to burn them in for a long time (and I am talking one or two weeks of listening before the sound stage opens up and everything changes for the better!)

It's not arrogant to explain why you'd prefer quality over an overpriced brand, many people are just unaware of the facts.

Sadly it's the same issue with tv's, most people just don't understand the basics & think that an lcd set is as good as a plasma because it's frame is thinner & they're promoted more heavily.
