400W halogen! Every time you use this a polar bear cub dies.

Not sure how much longer the type of high power halogen bulb these use will still be on sale. They do LEDs designed to fit but the ones I've seen put out a lot less light.

I agree. Would expect EU to ban these like 100w light bulbs. We had some builders which rigged up a few which I understand the need forgood light to work but.. sometimes they went home leaving them switched on.

why would they ban them? they should maybe ban bitcoin mining first
Stick one of the cheap clearance homebase led floodtlights on top and your well away.

Any links to Led lamps for these? The heat that one just generated whilst I was in the loft for 10 minutes today was immense!
