I'd always go for a One S official Microsoft pad over this one.
Usually you can get one for around £35 even if it's an open box one or something.

I'm pleased for you.

I'm sure that many will like the customisable functionality with regard to this controller.

PDP, so will likely break in a couple of months. Stick to official.

Good price OP and heat added. I quiet like the look of the controller but only thing stops me buying is the wire... I cannot imagine I'd be able to play a game like RL with a wired controller...

Neither the GAME link or official website mention '6 programmable action' buttons. Am I missing something?

Customisable functionally? You mean being able to adjust chat volume?
Not a massive selling point IMO, if there were programmable buttons on the back I'd accede.

"Deliverer of Truth"? Is that referring to the flip flop yes man Phil Spencer or the lying heathen Aaron Greenburg?

It's a wired controller. The detachable wire is a neat idea in case your cable develops a fault, or you want to modify it with a fancy braided one.The drawback is that people get confused thinking it's wireless and that micro USB port can get broken by clubs clumsy insertion, standing on it accidentally etc.

That is what I thought about being detachable. To be honest, I really like to look of it though. That is a shame, really.

Is this the version that has blkuetooth

I agree I would get one of it was wireless as well. Obviously my mistake on thinking it was wireless from a detachable cable.

This isn't a genuine Microsoft controller, you're thinking of the One S pad.
This is wired so there's no wireless connection of any sort.

Are the bumper buttons still any good? As on the official Microsoft controllers, the bumper buttons keep breaking off

Guys I have had one of these controllers for over a year, in the Gold colour. It takes a while to get used to after the official but I use it all the time now due to the fact that it doesnt need batteries. I'll sum up my thoughts below.

-Overall good quality for the price, nothing has broken or come loose on mine.
-Triggers feel responsive, probably marginally less than the official.
-AXYB buttons are less protruding from the controller. I'll admit they aren't as good quality (feel) wise but are more than capable.
-Upper bumpers are less responsive than the official controller to begin with but as tension has worn off they work fine now.
-It is not programmable unless the strange button near the right Analog does something, on mine its just for muting the Mic though
-Analogs feel strange at first as the top shape is different however they are equally as responsive as the official and have not come loose in anyway.
-It has a 3.5mm port in the bottom

Overall good for the money, especially as a back up controller just takes a few plays to get used to as I said. Mine has been chucked around a fair bit and still works perfectly.

Great design with the cable as in my experience this is usually the first part to become a problem /defective.Thanks OP.Heat added and ordered.

What are you doing to them?
I've had a Xbox one since launch, several official controllers and never had a bumper button break off!

Just normal use. I've had 3 controllers that the bumpers literally dropped off out of nowhere. The same thing happened to my mates elite controller too. I just repair mine now but it's still annoying. Have you cracked a controller open and looked at the components? They are all cheap as chips and flimsy. This is a very common problem, do a quick Google search. You've been lucky

i'm on my third controller... competitive fighting games are ruining my buttons on official controllers. rb switch in my black camo controller is done and b button on my white controller is done.

also...anyone know where i can buy a tact switch that would work with my rb button that isnt just a cheap china one that breaks after 2 weeks? lol

The new Xbox One S controllers are actually really good now (the older Xbone controllers sucked and broke quickly). When they can be had for not much more than this and the fact this isn't wireless, I can't vote this hot)

You've got the launch controller with independent bumpers. It's impossible to break them. You're most likely to suffer from stick drift..
The one after yours with the 3.5mm headphone jack that was before the One S had major issues with the bumpers being a single piece connected by a thin plastic bar that snaps, same with the elite..

I personally haven't had any break either but just look on eBay and there's usually LOADS with the same fault.

I've had 2 break too. Couldn't even replace with buttons from old controller as the plastic clips different shapes.

Got a controller from argos with insurance so can get replacement if happens again.

I bought the PS4 elite Pro (or whatever it's called) wired controller. That too had a detachable cable, although it was about as much use as chocolate tea pot without the cable. If I was to stab a guess I'd say it needs the cable to function

The detachable cables are for easier storage and easy replacement. These are not wireless.

Absolutely

I own the PDP Afterglow Prismatic controller, which is the same controller as this but in a transparent case with added lights. It was bought for me as a gift and I use it as my player 2/use-and-abuse controller, for which it works quite well.

It is wired only: the cable does detach (and uses standard micro USB connections) but it can only be used as a wired controller. If it helps the cable that came with mine was a reasonably nice braided cable, I imagine this'd be the same.

There are 6 programmable "buttons" in the from of two wheels that sit on the underside of the controller (for me the tips of my middle fingers sit over them as I grip it). Each wheel can be rocked up, down or be pressed in and they have a small bump in their centre to make using them easier during play.

You can programme each position of the wheels to mimic the function of another button on the fly, so for example I've set the right wheel's down position as my X button, thus if I'm playing Halo and flick it down I reload and don't have to take my thumb off the right stick, but if I wanted it to do something else I can press a separate button on the back and ask it to mimic say the right bumper instead.

If you chat online then the onboard audio controls are an added convenience. If I remember rightly you can tap the button by the right stick to mute/unmute your mic, or hold it and use the d-pad to increase/decrease volume and adjust the game/chat audio mix.

I tend to stick with the official controllers for my primary controllers, but the build quality is reasonable and if you're looking for a secondary controller with a few extra bells and whistles this may well do the job. Sometimes I swap mine in just to change things up a bit and play with the features.

Hope this helps clear up some of the confusion in the comments so far.
