Just got the email. Today is the best day ever!!
Nice. Thanks for the heads up op.
Free takeaways? Is that just 1 a week? If so that is a good deal
Not sure if I could live with myself thinking about the poor Deliveroo cyclists working a whole month for free, especially not out in the cold and wet.

What are you on about? They get paid reagrdless.
In the space of a month they shrunk from having over 40 restaurants that deliver in my city to less than 10...

it's a month not a week...
Thank yooou!
Can someone confirm please if this affects what the workers are paid for these specific deliveries?
It's free delivery, as in you don't get charged extra for delivery, not free food for a month.
Its not free food and of course the delivery guys get paid also if you are that worried bung em a £5 at the door.

The drivers get paid the same. This is a promo to get you into subscribing for the plus service which costs £8 a month after. And encourages you to order more deliveroo which is a win win for them. They take 20% of the restaurants cut which is how they make a profit even with this.

every restaurants has different rates, for chain restaurants will get better rate. my restaurant is 30%
deliveroo.co.uk/plus

bear in mind you'd need to order 4 takeaways a month for it to be worthwhile beyond the trial...
Anyone know when this offer ends, I want to wait until I next want a takeaway to activate it, so I get the longest use possible
20 percent is a good cut......let alone 30

I work for Deliveroo, and can tell you categorically, we simply would not deliver it without being paid. This is a promotion much like UberEATS offering free credit when they start in an area. Our riders get paid per hour + drop, or simply per drop. Deliveroo will be taking the hit from this, not us riders.

So work a bit harder/cycle faster. I'm a delivering rider and I get £4.25 per delivery on Friday-Sunday. I can easily do 4-5 deliveries an hour and get a few tips on top of that too.
Disagree with these sort of company ethics and worker exploitation, which is why I would never use this service myself. The so called 'gig economy' is just another way for businesses to deprive employees of their most basic working rights. I'd rather pay more so that hard working people are paid an adequate wage without being exploited for the corporate greed of a 1.5 billion pound company.
Erm... says I have to place an order to sign up.... so I have to make a purchase then await the promotional email for the free month?
Try ordering on a sat night when it's rani g waste of time there is never drivers available and I live in the city
lol don't agree with Ethics of delavaroo

You cat have low prices and company ethics

Try do thatfull time mate! If you’re lucky sometimes it gets busy during lunch hours so maybe we (
(cyclist) get about 4-5 orders from 12-2pm) and then 7-9pm rest of the day NOT A SINGLE ORDER! Now deliveroo decided to extend their zones i can understand so they get more customers but funny thing is we get paid the same. So if we were delivering within 1 mile before for £3.75 we are still delivering £3.75 per drop but most of the times we cycle 3 bloody miles! And we work during thunder, lighting, rain, snow or boiling hot weather but when when it comes to payment theres always £20-40 short then you have email if you’re lucky you get a email and money back if you’re not then thats it. My friend being getting paid £25.£27-£40 short for last 4 months they don’t even even reply to the email even though he took a screen shot of the drops he done.
