This deal seems quite a bit cheaper than the £516.35 on the Dell site.

This is actually an excellent price, but I don't think most people understand what the monitor represents in a market full of cheap and cheerful TN LCDs.

If only I didn't have a 2209WA I might've considered it.

I've got the 2407WFP Rev. A00, which cost me over £400 new from Dell. If your looking at the monitor all day and need that extra quality with no ghosting, you pay for it. Cheap panels just don't come near this

I have this monitor and work and if I didn't work in a secure location I would try and steal it lol as it's fantastic but wouldn't pay that price for it

I would hold out for the U2410, … I would hold out for the U2410, myself.http://www.pcbuyit.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=822

Ah touche, at this level of pricing, IPS > PVA

Yeah I understand it still looks expensive, but this uses a more modern type of panel technology, the same Apple use in their excellent (though even more madly expensive) monitors.

I'm in the market for a new 24" monitor, after my fantastic old Mitsubishi diamondtron CRT gave up the ghost, most flat panel screens are still crappy compared to my old monitor, so i'm considering one of these Dells.

lol i can buy buy 32" tv an use it as monitor for this price. 32" tv … lol i can buy buy 32" tv an use it as monitor for this price. 32" tv £29.95 http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/483482/hitachi-32-ultra-thin-lcd-for-249-9/ connect that to your pc via hdmi. There are plenty of 24" monitors under £200. Even a 6 month old dell deal is cheaper http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/348847/dell-s2409w-full-hd-monitor-197-40-/ or how about this dell G4210 http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/477543/dell-g2410-24inch-widescreen-flat-p/

You do know what screen resolution is don't you? Why would you want to stare at a 32" TV with less than a third of the resolution of this monitor? The pixelation will give you eye strain and probably a stinging headache within an hour. Even if you were to get a full HD TV to use as a monitor it would still be blocky compared with this monitor.

There's a reason monitors cost more per inch than TVs

I went from a 22" Mitsi to a 2405 and then 2407 years ago, you won't regret it fir a moment.

These monitors were considered, and are, far superior to Apple's older range of monitors and only the newest ones put them back on par but they don't come close in terms of warranty, 12 months RTB, compared to either three or four years next day, on site.

Sorry.
No way would I spend this much on a monitor.
