Brilliant ordered (after cancelling my order from yesterday with smaller discount) thank you OP
Possible 5% TCB

Edit: had this monitor for a few weeks now and its hard to fault for office work, movies and gaming.

I got this, it's fantastic.

Try finding a monitor with great colour reproduction, IPS and 165hz AND 1440p, it's very hard, this ticks all the boxes! Heat!

Has anyone weighed this monitor up over the ASUS TUF VG27AQ? What are people’s opinions?

Get a new monitor, IPS does that over time, all my iMacs and Macs have had the same issue. If you get a single grey colour image and full screen it, you may see image persistence.

The only thing you can do really is run a video for a long time or a screen saver to get rid of it, but it’ll come back very quickly when you have the bar there or the same colour as the bar.

Why I now hide all my tool bars and I switch between dark and light modes on my IPS displays.

What monitor do you have ?
I have an Asus, same spec as this Dell (IPS, 1440P, 165Hz, gsync). It's over 4 years old but after about 3 years, it developed a faint streak that runs along the top of the screen.
Well I do need a new monitor for a new GPU, and it needs to be better than 100hz 1440p IPS. This does tick the boxes :/

Never had an issue on TN, could be dust or the edge lighting

This says it's gsync on the listing?
Bought this after hesitating on the last deal for it, thanks for posting OP!
slannmage13/09/2020 10:20

IPS does that over time

Really? I have ips monitors over 5 years old that still look good as new

Don't quote me on this but I think that freesync and g-sync are interchangeable nowadays. From what I remember, Freesync monitors are labelled G-Sync compatible.
How will this be for the new consoles ?
leighdegree13/09/2020 12:08

How will this be for the new consoles ?

Not ideal as they are meant to be used at 4k with a lower refresh rate (60 hz I think) and this is not a 4k monitor.
The new consoles run 120fps . So this would be ideal no ? As 4k is unrealistic at that frame rate without spending huge amounts . 1440p at 120fps would be good on them consoles ?
Doesn't look like this has a VESA mount otherwise it would be perfect for me

Edit: apparently it does have 100x100, ordered 😁

You're not getting 4k 120fps on a console that's for sure
So maybe they'll be performance or quality modes like some current games have where you can choose between 4k 30-60fps or 1080p 120fps

It does, 100x100 - got two last time it was on offer and vesa mounted them both
Is there a possible further reduction with cash bafck?

possible on something like minecraft haha . But yeah 120 fps is confirmed for a fair few games already . Halo being the big one . And many people online seem to believe you can run 4k 60fps . Or 1440p 120fps .

Yes it can do g sync, ive used it. Being "g sync compatible" you lose some extra features compared to a true g sync monitor. But it absolutely does switch refresh to match fps and looks smooth as butter.

Also note even in the manual for this monitor, youll get a warning in Windows saying its not certified as g sync compatible, but to ignore the warning. I trust Dell when they say this

I think when I tried it on my phone in the past it didn’t track the purchase, I have no idea why, but every time I’ve used my laptop it’s always worked. So I would suggest using the tcb website search for dell then use their link from there
This is from my experience hopefully it will help out if you face similar issues after purchasing this monitor -

If the monitor flickers or black screen for a second or two but your graphic driver is up to date and cable is good - this does not confirm the monitor is faulty. It is most likely the new driver patch that correspond to this monitor did not install correctly. What I did was download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and follow it’s instruction and I have not face any issue since. It seems like a common issue as two of my friends also bought the same monitor and same thing happened to them, hope this helps.
Lol HDR4000 lets getit

Is there really any other competitors to this at this price range? (sub £400) I was wanting one asap as i'm moving, but everything else seems a poor deal compared to this!

VG27AQ uses Innolux K7B panel, it's slower compare to this one. worth buying if it's 100 cheaper.

TCB took me to the laptop page too, but it tracked fine from there on my mobile. 5.1% / £14.08 is pending in my TCB account.
