MODERATOR
Dell’s Inspiron 15-3585 laptop has an AMD Ryzen 5 processor and a 256GB SSD, so you’ll be able to send emails and stream shows, while having enough storage space for your files, photos and videos.

Ryzen processor
AMD impressed the computing world with the release of their Ryzen processor, which provides a great balance of speed with energy efficiency. This Ryzen 5 2500U mobile processor is built with Radeon's integrated Vega 8 graphics to provide a base clock speed of 2GHz, but can scale up to 3.6GHz when the task demands for basic gaming and standard online streaming.

Super space
The 256GB SSD provides enough space for the programmes you use everyday, as well as photos, music and some video. SSD drives work faster than traditional HDDs, and are a good choice for portable machines as they are more resistant to jolts and knocks sustained while travelling.

Screen time
The screen has a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels - ideal for streaming videos at home or watching a downloaded video during the commute.

Connecting your other devices
The USB ports allow for fast data transfer, the SD card slot offers a convenient way to upload your photos and videos. Additionally, HDMI allows for large screen presentations and Bluetooth can help to send data wirelessly between devices.

Guessing that "Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Non-touch Display" is TN.

Good point. Have HP worked out how to make budget laptops with hinges that don't break after a few years :-)
The 3 year warranty is good but laptops should be lasting 5 years+ (with considerate use)..
Nah, not this. It looks dated, just look at that bezel.
Presumed this is not an IPS display either.
Get the £440 Lenovo ideapad 330s Ryzen 5 at Argos while you still can.

I would go Dell at the low-end but nothing is great really. This being a 3000-series machine it's the low-end model so the hinges are probably bolted into a plastic sub-frame that's attached to the plastic chassis that may form stress-fractures over time. For the money the spec is good and if you mostly leave it on a desk and occasionally move it, you'll probably be absolutely fine. Also, being a Dell, parts are easy to come by if something does break.
Hi there,

For those with this laptop, please can you advise:

1) Is the screen DIM or bright?

2) Is the SD card slot flush (hides fully when inserted) or does it stick out?

Thank you
