Rated ST and dont forget Quidco for some cashback savings on the price too ;-)

Dell are having problems atm, if you reduce the warranty it actually adds to the price, each sucessive warranty change just increases the price, never reducing!

Yes, I noticed this, the specs are also playing up! If you select 'view as list' on certain systems it changes the CPU. The above system (for example) drops back to a P4 3GHz (single core)!

I was hoping we could gain from this ;-) but havnt found a way yet :-)

Thanks for the post ST, voting Hot!

This is an excellent PC - I bought one a few months back, when Dell were selling them for £399 for exactly the same model/19" TFT, but with a smaller hard disc.
Its *really* quiet.. you can barely hear the fan when it's turned on.

One suggestion though: get yourself a second DVD-writer. Even for reading data off CDs/DVDs, the DVD writer that comes with this model is incredibly slow. Get yourself any old £20 DVD writer, it'll make a huge difference.

Does this a fast PCI-e slot suitable for a graphics card, or would I be stuck with onboard?

Yes it does, a PCIe x16
Dell typically sold them with ATI X300 or X600s, but they seem to have dropped the graphics card option lately.
cheers

If it's got a PCI-E slot you can put in a 7600GT card for less than £100 and get super-fast gaming at pretty much full settings for all bar the very latest games.

Which model DVDRW is in your 5150 UncleMike? Mine is a Philips 16x speed and no problems reading or writing data.

This is still available today after the Dell weekly updates at this price.
