A rather good Easter deal from Dell Outlet , premium metal body laptop for a bargain price.

Enter code doeaster15 to remove 15% off from the listed price.

Absolute bargain BUT :

A few things to note about Dell Outlet, most of these are pointed out by another member who posted a similar deal , but I will repeat it just in case...

Dell Outlet are not the most professional and the delivery company they use UKMAIL are absolutely appalling. There are all sorts of horror stories about them which are all true and if you check trust pilot there will probably be in excess of 10 complains just for today.

Products from the outlet are hit and miss too, most of the items are returns and the quality control is non existent so you might get a brand new machine or a used one with faults, in my experience the ones with sought after spec like i7 and 512Gb Nvme have a higher chance of being faulty as they probably changed hands quite a few times before reaching the final costumer. I guess Dell are unofficially aware of this so the returns process is very easy and free and no questions asked if you wanna return within 14 days.

In terms of the laptop , it is absolutely amazing for the price I got one for £620 with i7 and 256ssd and and I am very happy with it it was brand new with very tight fit on the headphone jack , usb and hdmi which makes me think its unused( although I would've got this one as performance wise 8th gen i5 and i7 are very similar so a bit gutted here that I lost £160). It is smaller than average 15inch laptop and is very solid , it feels like a one peace rather than many put together. I got as it has the latest processor plus HDMI 2.0 and its small and light. Build quality and looks is like macbook pro , some people will point out they copied the design and thats a bad thing , but I think that it is a good as macbooks are the best for build so if it aint broke dont fix it right?

Unfortunately out of the box the performance is crap full of bloatware and issues like random freezing poor wifi , it performed worse than my 6 year old i5. A CLEAN windows reinstall brought the laptop back to 2018 ( factory recovery wont fix the issues , I tried) ,now it flies through everyday tasks , I undervolted it and with 10 tabs open in chrome the fan doesnt even switch on.

I purchased 2 at the time the one with i7 and Nvme had wobbly trackpad and very slow wifi , very annoying so as much as I wanted to keep it it had to go back.

So long story short nothing can come close price wise in regards to specs and build quality , but there is no such thing as free lunch so prepare to have issues POTENTIALLY. I was lucky got a good machine , but other people might not. They update the stock at 3pm everyday the code works on all home systems so you might find something else that takes your fancy.

UKMail are one of the worst couriers around. I had numerous re-arranged deliveries (made by them), and after contacting customer service several times and being assured a priority delivery for next day, they didn't even deliver that! When I did finally eventually get it, the box was absolutely squashed and trashed and their attempts to tape it all back together was a joke.

The laptop looks like a superb deal, but I don't know if I can vote hot because of the courier they use

Edit: including the image of how my delivery was handled by the courier.

Fair enough, that is why I tried to be as transparent as I can in the description so a potential buyer can make an informed decision before taking the plunge.

EDIT : Just saw the box pic , Its absolutely disgusting but what is more disturbing is that companies like DELL and TESCO and many others still give business to these a...holes.

I am currently 5 months and 3 laptops in. They send what & when they want, UK mail nick them, if u order new unused you’ll get refurb and they hope you won’t notice, when you complain they are useless, and after all that they only ever say return it for a refund cos it’s easy. Personally I have reached a point where I am writing a formal complaint.

Sorry to hear that , but you can complain as much as you want, they dont give a flying F....Costumer service is based in India I think and they are very stubborn. Their prices are the very a low and you get what you pay for , unfortunately its a case of take it or leave it. I hope you can resolve your issues , if not small claims court will...

Cause people are optimistic and not afraid to get their hands dirty for the things they want , a few calls here , an email there is all it takes. If you dont like it then return it , you have 14 days to make up your mind, after that it all on you...

Just to give an opposing experience as there are quite a few dell outlet deals being posted:

I ordered a laptop from the outlet store at the end of last year on the 18th December, hoping there was a slight chance I would get it before Christmas when I would be travelling. Wasn’t too surprised when it said the expected delivery date would be in the new year but they actually surprised me and it arrived on the 21st. No problems with the courier and the laptop is great.
why bother with the BUT op if it is that easy? Most people do not want the hassle and time spent with companies like this with cheap couriers not knowing if you are going to get a refund or what you asked for

Agreed, buy via Amazon, warranty free and service way better. Odd Michael Dell doesn't seem to care, yet Bezos has confirmed service is so important.

If people want to save 30% or more on laptop "as new", and with warranty, then a little effort is required. Plus you might still get a laptop with the same issues when bought new from Dell or others anyway.

Yes it was easy for me to call dell a few times and send emails to the courier , but for some people it is hustle , therefore the BUT is for them. Its for people who have unrealistic expectations and hopefully the detailed description will help them make up their mind. If I can save upwards of £200 then screw it I would go for it.
Never had a problem but then again I don't order from the consumer side of Dell - Latitudes come with 3 years on site support which means that problems do get fixed.
Ordered a 5570 took over a week to deliver but arrived without problem. Refurbished but appears to be brand new to my eye. Cs were very helpful when I asked for more discount because the deal had changed overnight. Be charming and friendly if you contact them, people are more likely to want to help.

940MX is terrible for gaming. I know because I have one lol.

I've ordered a 7577 for £550, just hope it's OK when it arrives. It's replacing my 6 year old Dell refurb that was posted on here, it's been generally very good but had to replace the HDD about a year ago as it had developed a fault and the battery has now given up
Why don't dell partner with reliable Delivery services out there. I mean why stick to UKmail despite the horror stories.

I believe the 5000 series are made of plastic, so very different computers
Buy a Dell refurb? I’ve had nothing but trouble trying to buy a new one off them. Bought in December. 2 laptops in, 3 technician visits. I think I’ve spoken to 30 different people. Gone for a refund but they have failed to pick up now on 2 occasions. I’m not surprised there’s so many refurbs on offer
I am voting hot as I am on my 2nd ever Dell Outlet laptop.
So far I have not had any issues with the laptops and the prices have been very good.
The courier company IS an issue. My laptop was delayed, and then arrived in an almost open box, thankfully on an open day.
As long as you are prepared for some arguments with Dell and their courier then this is a great deal.

p.s. both times my dell outlet computer has looked brand new. I have not noticed that it has ever been used.

£620? From where?
I’ve had seven or eight computers/tablets from Dell Outlet (for me and family/work). Courier is a bit ropey, but usually get notice of delivery day in advance.

Value/spec is second to none if you get in at 3ish and pick up the bargains. They also have some quite unusual spec machines appearing. For instance a micro form factor pc with full i5 not the U/T variant.

Had had a couple of issues. Motherboard broke in X51. Fixed within 3 days with a technician visit.

Workstation laptop M-something had backlight bleed. They sent a new screen, but it’s a design fault. They sent a replacement new laptop. And didn’t ask for the old one back. Effectively two for one - I’ll live with backlight bleed for that.

Small mark on scratch and dent Aurora R5 (i7k, 1080 for about £1000) - the spec was incredible for the price about 18 months ago.

Customer services a bit hard work, but keep at it and they have resolved the few problems I’ve had sensibly for me.

I know exactly how you feel. When it comes to ukMail deliveries, you have to be at home to accept it as every redelivery will come more and more damaged. That is if it comes in one piece in the first place.
Bought 3 laptops from the Outlet previously & the only issue I've had was a faulty piece of memory but I got lucky in that the previous owner had paid for a premium warranty so they sent an engineer out who changed the memory on-site, other than that they've been spot on, only reason I've replaced them is my own clumsiness because I keep dropping them & knackering the charger ports (or on my current one i spilt coke on it which hasn't helped the performance.)

You're right - I didn't notice the price drop when you choose HK. £615 is a good price but still alot of money to pay for basically no warranty.

I'd probably go for the Dell as its almost £200 cheaper or a UK sourced gaming laptop if I wanted something more powerful though at that £600+ price range.
