I would rather pay a bit extra for a reliable brand. Do you have any links?

Like 1060 according to benchmarks online.

nice spec for price tempted
I always wanted alienware laptop, but i could never justify paying premium price. But for this price i would buy it instead of Toshiba gaming laptop i bought years ago for similar price. Now im just not that big of a gamer to buy it. Love the deal either way
It has IPS screen too, nice!!!

In between a 1050ti and a 1060 but can match or beat the 1060 in some games

Just been looking myself and came to the same conclusion!

Heat though for the price for an Alienware,

Dell is definitely worth paying extra for, but I think this is a little expensive if you can hold out. Especially since 9th gen CPUs should be appearing in laptops soon.

I can wait as I don't game at all currently, have a Xbox and PS4 I don't use so when I buy my laptop will probably be the same, but what the hell!

Same company (Alienware are Dell). Much better cpu but slightly weaker gpu currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/dell-g3-15-15-6-intel-core-i7-gtx-1050-ti-gaming-laptop-1-tb-hdd-128-gb-ssd-10182914-pdt.html

This cpu is much better for modern AAA games.

I didn’t even try, first site I went too so sure better deals are around.

Looking at that dell design, im not sure if it wont suffer heating issues when gaming heavy. Alienware design is better in that sense. Linus from youtube showed alienware cpu temp around 87c and gpu 74c. Dont think this dell can match that with its slimmer and less fan exit points design.

I'd probably take a better gpu tbh, the i5 shouldn't be throttling at 60fps.

mmm.... shiny!

If you want this particular laptop, keep monitoring Dell's outlet. If you're lucky then you'll find almost new stuff at reasonable discounts.

I would reccomend waiting until new year to buy a gaming laptop the new rtx 2070 and 2080 graphics cards are going to be in laptops so can either buy a laptop with 40% better performance for a little bit more price or a 1060-1070-1080 for much cheaper as they will drop in price because of new rtx i need new gaming laptop but know i will get either much better value in January or February or pay a little bit extra and get a new 2000 series and be future proof for 3 or 4 years minimum.

You're wrong because a worse CPU and gpu here can hit 1080p 60fps on high in some games. Dropping down to med will probably guarantee 60fps 1080 in everything.

Living up to your name there 😝

The gtx 1070 laptops are still circa 1400, the 2070 laptops will be at least that expensive for a long time!

Exactly so if there the same price or even a bit more than a 1070 now a 2070 will be a 30-50% upgrade depending thats a great boost and worth waiting why spend the same money or slightly less now for a huge power drop in literally a couple if months time...

I have i5 laptop with 1060 6gb and play the 2 new ac games and bf5 all 60fps on high some medium but mostly high... so erm... ye... in fact new assassins creed sits at 75 ish... I could move texture to ultra but prefer having wiggle room for cutscenes or built up areas when it drops to 60fps... point is... i5 is fine if you is decent most games are not bottlenecked by cpu
computerguy2344 m ago

Agree fully... I have i5 and play loads of AAA games on high ish at 60fps

Slightly less? It's almost double the price lol
No when they come into mainstream the newer model drops price so does the current... if things didnt drop every new iteration would be more and more costly and cost like 30k haha
Ah jeeez..back to deciding between this and the MSI Leopard Pro again now..

I happy to pay extra just not to buy it from Currys.
How well would this laptop work with the VR Rift?
Its so tempting. Did anyone go for it in the end?

Haha, I had a budget of £600 for my son's Xmas laptop and got him a £800 msi with a 3gb 1060.
Was debating getting myself a msi 6gb with a i7-8750 for £1100, although this is max q (reakon about 5fps less than a standard) still works out alot cheaper
