Dell are holding a Black Friday early this summer. not a fan how every month there's some sort of 'sale' which are not normally worth BUT this was worth it. The Dell Alienware 34 Monitor - AW3418DW was already on offer at £850. Dell are offering Student Discount at 16% knocking it down even further to £713.54.

Just requires a student email which they email you the code within seconds. Good Luck!

Been waiting for this to drop as my Samsung LC34F791 34" Ultrawide started to fail on me within 7 months!

No point buying a new monitor with the new XDR coming out in a few months. …No point buying a new monitor with the new XDR coming out in a few months. Save your pennies.

XDR is a completely different monitor for a entirely different market. Why are you even comparing them.

Comparing an XDR monitor to this is like comparing a ferrari with an Audi. Different beasts man and XDR's aren't meant for gamers anyway. It's for the professionals like photography and movie editors who need colour accuracy to be spot on!

I've been thinking about getting a curved monitor for a while but I need to see one in person as I don't know how good a VA panel is compared to TN and IPS. It's all good reading the differences but I need to see for myself.

Then why are you looking at the comments in a £700+ monitor when you could pop to Currys/PC World and get a monitor for sub £80........

Out of curiosity and since I already have this monitor, it doesn’t sense downgrading to a £80 monitor.

This monitor isn't new though.
Get the LG with nano ips, faster refresh, and hdr if you're in this market.
Have this monitor for just under a year and love it. Amex is doing a £75 cashback on any purchases over £400 on Dell products. With Student disocunt, Amex cashback and TBC, this could be a steal! Heat added

Yh was shocked that it wasn't hot. Its the cheapest so far. I guess people don't know their tech.
Ordered - thanks for the post !
My monitor just arrived and is tremendous when compared with my old 144hz TN panel. Do not think I could ever go back now, ultrawide is beautiful. Seem to have lucked out in panel lottery as well minimal BLB and no pixel issues

Mine came yesterday night. Love it to bits. Had a Samsung 34" ultrawide, however it had issues so went for this instead. The build on the AW is superb!
I want buy this monitor but to take full advantage of this monitor I heard you need to be equipped with rtx 2080 or more, is that true
By the way hot from me thanks for the post

That's incorrect. You dont need the latest one. I've got a 1080ti, mates got 1070. The monitor is amazing even using it as a dual screen, even for a midrange graphics card (my opinion).
Anyone got a student code going spare?
Nevermind the above - MUBLACKFRIDAY worked for me to bring the price down from £849 to £713.
